William S. Thorne, Jr. (1919 – 2014)

CHATHAM—A memorial service for William “Bill” S. Thorne, Jr., of Chatham and Fort Myers, FL, who died March 6, 2014 in Cape Coral, Florida will be held Monday, May 19 at 1 p.m. from the Chatham United Methodist Church.

Inurnment will be in the Spencertown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chatham United Methodist Church, 13 Kinderhook Street, Chatham 12037. A complete obituary for Mr. Thorne appeared in the March 13 issue.

Linda Susan Werner (1949 – 2014)

CLERMONT—Linda Susan Werner, 64, of Clermont passed away April 30 surrounded by her cherished family.

She was born September 21, 1949, daughter of the late Harry and Mickey LaDue.

She graduated from Columbia Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1970 and worked as a nurse for Dr. Ullman for many years.

She was a loving mother to Stephen (Brandy) Werner and Todd (Nicole) Werner. She also had four “Grandbabies” Chole, Cassandra, Mason and Jillian. She had a newfound love of her life, John Gardner, Sr.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Werner and granddaughter, Faith.

Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s. She never wanted a child to have to go through what she did.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 6, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown. Services will be at 7 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday, May 7, 11 a.m. at the Reformed Church Cemetery of Germantown.

Rosa West (1943 – 2014)

HUDSON—Rosa West, 70, of Linlithgo died May 3, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born October 5, 1943 in Greenport, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Roe) Decker.

Mrs. West was employed many years ago at the pocketbook factory in Hudson and later on at Iron Mountain in Livingston.

Survivors include: her sister, Helen Mesick of Hudson, and her extended family, Wayne Raymond and family of Linlithgo.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles West, who died March 14, 1993.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 11 a.m. at the Linlithgo Rural Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations are requested to a charity of one’s choice.
