Betty Cozzolino (1926 – 2014)

HUDSON—Betty Cozzolino, 88, of Chatham passed away on April 5, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospice.

Born January 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Naomi Teator Bryant.

She was the past president of the Chatham Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Ghent Senior Citizens, and a founder of “The Grandmothers.”

Mrs. Cozzolino is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Jack Fredericks; grandson, Ron Fredericks; granddaughter and husband, Nikki and Scott Lundy; beloved great-grandson, Dylan Lundy; sisters, Shirley Navom and Valera Molnar; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Tony Cozzolino, who passed away February 8, 1992 after 47 years of marriage; a sister, Mildred Roetina and a brother, Hugh Bryant.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, April 9 from noon to 3 p.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chatham Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chatham Rescue Squad or to the Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene.

Everett F. Miller (1928 – 2014)

HUDSON—Everett F. Miller, 86, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Firemen’s Home with his loving family by his side.

Born March 30, 1928 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Everett W. and Grace (Burns) Miller.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War.

Mr. Miller worked for the New York Telephone Company for 33 years before retiring as bureau foreman in Catskill.  He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a gallon blood donor, a member of the Ghent Rod and Gun Club, and a member of Greenport Pumper Company #1. He loved his family and enjoyed spending the winters in Florida.

Surviving are: his wife, Jeanne (Morrison) Miller of Claverack; his son, James E. Miller of Saugerties; his daughter, Lisa M. Albert and his two grandchildren, Ian P. and Hannah A. Albert, all of Northford, CT; his sister-in-law, Mary Miller of Wilbraham, MA; several cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, William Miller and his sister, Patricia.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson.

Burial will be in the Mellenville Union Cemetery.

Dorothy Ann Frick (1924 – 2014)

HUDSON—Dorothy A. Frick, 90, a resident of Whittier Nursing Home, formerly of Chatham, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Community Hospice of Columbia Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 3, 1924 in Hudson, the daughter of the late Percy William and Mary Elizabeth (Gannon) Gregory.

She and her late husband, Albert Frick, who died in 1974, moved to Chatham in 1952. She was employed with Chatco in Chatham as a machine operator for 35 years. Mrs. Frick was a past president and 50-year member of the Chatham Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and a member of the Ghent VFW Post # 5933 Ladies Auxillary. She is survived by: two sons, Rick and wife Deborah Frick of Ghent and Albert James Frick of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Deanna and husband Thomas Wheeler of Valatie and Linda Jean Comellas of Tampa, FL; sister, Helen Thompson of St. Petersburgh, FL; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Frick and brother, John Gregory. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m. from the Wenk Funeral Home, Chatham.

Gilbert F. Goller (1933 – 2014)

GALLATIN—Gilbert F. Goller, 81, of Gallatin passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Joan A. (Rowe) Goller; four beloved children, Douglas G. Goller of Yaphank, Laura and (Allen) Scott of New Bern, NC, Lisa and (William) Gratrix of Chester Springs, PA, and Krista Meriam of Ancram; grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Colton, Ashton and Clayton; two nieces, Pat and (Russell) Hartmann and Wendy and (Paul) Weisz.

Mr. Goller graduated from Hofstra University with honors in geology and worked in the Yellowknife Territories of Canada as a field geologist. He served in the Army as a lieutenant for two years in Germany, and worked for the Wallace Murray Corporation in New York.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Manorton, 923 County Route 19, Elizaville, intersection of county routes 19 and 8, with the Reverend Jackie Jefferson officiating.
