John C. Moriarty (1958 – 2014)
LIVINGSTON—John C. Moriarty, 55, of Livingston died Sunday, March 30 at his home.
Born in the Bronx, December 14, 1958, he was the son of the late Daniel and Marie (Zeiss) Moriarty.
Mr. Moriarty was a graduate of Hudson High School. He was an iron worker with Local 417 in Newburgh.
Mr. Moriarty is survived by: his loving wife, Mairy Miano; brother, Daniel and (Colleen) Moriarty; sisters, Patricia and (Edward) Long, Carol Novack and Maureen and (Robert) Hotaling; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bobby and (Donna) Miano, Stephanie Miano, Steven and (Lois) Miano; many nieces and nephews and his beloved pets, LeeLee, Dora and Walter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moriarty was predeceased by his sister, Marie Eileen Kilgallen and nephew, Daniel Moriarty, III.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 3, 10 a.m. at the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8047 State Route 22, Copake Falls, with Father George Brennan officiating. Everly Alissabeth Demary (2014 – 2014)
ALBANY—Everly Alissabeth Demary passed peacefully in the arms of her mother and father, Saturday, March 22, 2014 and went safely into the sacred arms of God and lost loved ones.
She was born February 14, 2014 to Matthew A. Demary and Sarah M. Turner at Albany Medical Center, Albany.
Everly came to her parents at the perfect time, Valentine’s Day, and she did so in a hurry. She was more than three months premature and weighed only 1 pound 2 ounces. Everything about her was perfect she had a full head of dark hair and was instantly capable of bringing those who loved her together. From every direction Everly’s family, some distant, she closed gaps and brought us together. She loved being touched and being held in both hands, grabbing her parents’ finger or finger tips tight with her perfect tiny fingers.
Everly was and always will be the most powerful beautiful little girl to us all.
She is immortalized by her mother, Sarah M. Turner and father, Matthew A. Demary; grandparents, Mark and Jennifer Turner of Chatham, Aaron Demary and Cara Cooper both of Pittsfield, MA; aunts, Kirsten and Kaylee Demary; uncles, Bubby Turner, Shawny Demary and Keegan Cooper along with an endless number of loving family members and friends including the wonderful Ronald McDonald House staff as well.
Graveside services were Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Harlemville German Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham. There was a reception for family and friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family asks that any donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House Albany, for all the kindness and help they give to support families of our children in need. Also a special thank you to NECU and its staff at Albany Medical center, together they were amazing at just the right times.

Norman C. Johnson (1930 – 2014)
GHENT—Norman C. Johnson, 83, of Livingston died March 23, 2014 at Whittier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing where he was a resident for the past four years.
Born October 18, 1930 in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Alvin and Lyllis Clark Johnson.
He resided in Livingston since 1994 and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church there.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a custodian for the Valeo Company of Jamestown.
Survivors include: a brother, Chester of Annapolis, MD and many friends in Livingston.
He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor.
Graveside services were held March 28, 2014 at the Linlithgo Rural Cemetery.
Wanda M. Wojtowicz (1932 – 2014)
LATHAM—Wanda M. Wojtowicz, 81, of Latham, formerly of Hudson, died Monday, March 31 at her home.
Born in Hudson, September 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Sophia (Sobocinski) Wojtowicz and the sister of the late Luke J. Wojtowicz. She is survived by several cousins and friends including her cousin and God-daughter, Karen and (Peter) Spinelli She was born and raised in Hudson, where she lived most of her life. More recently, she lived in the Albany and Latham area. She attended Hudson City Schools, and was a graduate of the College of St. Rose where she earned her BS in music education and her MS in education.
She was an accomplished pianist and organist and was the organist for the former Sacred Heart Church in Hudson. She retired after a 32-year teaching career in music education and also kindergarten with the Ichabod Crane Central School District. She loved children, teaching and guiding them. She was also an avid traveler, gardener and reader.
Calling hours will be Thursday, April 3, 2014 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson, with Father Winston Bath officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery. Marjorie deHeus Shaw (1912 – 2014)
KINDERHOOK—Marjorie deHeus Shaw, 102, of Kinderhook passed peacefully Saturday, March 29, 2014 at home.
She was born in Albany, January 5, 1912, the daughter of Peter and Esther deHeus.
She was educated at Milne High School and then the State
Teachers College at Albany and became a teacher of home economics, first at Greenville Central School and later at Columbia High School in East Greenbush, from where she retired after many years of service.
She was predeceased by her sister, Esther and brother, J. Burgess.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by: her husband, Robert V. Shaw; a daughter, Holly Shaw; two sons, Michael Shaw and his wife Michelle of Kinderhook and Kevin Shaw of Castleton; her grandchildren, Robert and Kara Shaw. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at a memorial service at the Greenbush Reformed Church, Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush, April 10, 2014 at 5 p.m. Interment will be in the East Greenbush Cemetery.
