David J. Meltz (1957 – 2014)
ALBANY— David “Captain” J. Meltz, 56, of Stockport died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Albany Medical Center.
Born November 9, 1957 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Siegfried “Zeke” and Harriet (Quinion) Meltz.
He was the husband of the late Deborah (Garvey) Meltz and brother to the late Gary Meltz.
Mr. Meltz is survived by: his two daughters, Natasha (Meltz) Reuter, 31, Katrina Meltz, 27, and her fiancé John Danish, II, 33; four grandchildren, Jimmy Konderwich, 11, Zeke Reuter, 4, Arianna Thorsey, 3, and Grace Danish, 2; his sister, Carol Meltz; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn (Werner) Hanlon; beloved brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Casey (Endryck) Hanlon; sister-in-law, Mary (Hanlon) Oakley; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Meltz was an avid lover of motorsports and long-time small business owner of Dave’s Hometown Auto in Stockport.
He was loved by many and enjoyed spending time with his closest friends: Dale and Lori (Houghtaling) Hilton, Ronnie Cutler, Jack and Kelley Demarest, Steve “McMan” Ohl and lifelong dearest friends, Mike “Smitty” Smith, Bill “Vogie” Vogel and the late Jack Demarest, Sr.
Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 20 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.
Services will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Enid Advocate Drake (1959 – 2014)
HUDSON—Enid Advocate Drake, 54, of Hudson, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born October 26, 1959 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Sol and Fay Advocate.
She is survived by: her husband, David; her son, Jordan; her daughters, Lauren and Sarah; a brother, Philip; a sister, Joan and countless friends who loved her.
Mrs. Drake was employed as a clerk for the Columbia County Records Department in Hudson.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 16 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.
Donald Harold Snyder (1928 – 2014)
GREELEY, CO—Donald Harold Snyder, 85, of Greeley, CO passed away peacefully February 7, 2014 at his residence in Greeley after a long illness.
He was born September 24, 1928 in Clermont, to Harold and Ethel (Fraleigh) Snyder.
He grew up in Clermont and graduated from Red Hook High School. He married Joan Harvey in Germantown, May 11, 1957.
Mr. Snyder served four years in the U.S. Navy, worked at Western Electric and retired from AT&T.
He enjoyed competitive shooting, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Clermont Fire Department, the Southern Columbia Rifle Club, and Christ‘s Lutheran Church. Throughout his life Mr. Snyder never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of Greeley, CO; sisters, Doreen Kosnick of Hudson and Diane Hoffman of Flemington, NJ; brother-in-law, Robert Harvey (Kim) of Peyton, CO; nieces, Debbie, Darlene, Erica, Lynn, Dara, Morgan, Jessica, Zoe and Christina; nephews, Raymond, Paul, Trevor, Andrew, Jason, Nicholas, Noah and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held in New York at the convenience of the family.

Elvena M.F. “Dolly” Bogucki (1936 – 2014)
GHENT—Elvena M.F. “Dolly” Bogucki, 77, of Livingston died Friday February 14, 2014 at the Whittier Nursing Home.
Born August 27, 1936 in Hudson she was the daughter of the late Philip and Anna May (Race) Lasher.
Mrs. Bogucki was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and loved her music.
Survivors include: two sons, Dwayne Bogucki of Livingston and David Bogucki of Pleasant Valley; a daughter, Donna Corbett of Livingston; four sisters, Lillian Lasher, Rose Mary Rowen of Hudson, Patty Plass of MA, and Diane Lasher of CT; seven grandchildren, Marsha, Mark, Amy, Jason, Cori, Tonya and David; six great-grandchildren, Cheyane, Maura, Hunter, Sklyar, Curtis and Mazzie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley who died February 9, 2004; a brother, Philip Lasher and sister, Alice Beck.
Calling will be Wednesday, February 19, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, February 20 at the funeral home. Burial follows in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.
Lily Baretsky (1917 – 2014)
PLATTSBURGH—Lily Mary T. Baretsky, 96, of Dannemora and formerly of Hudson, died Sunday, February 9 at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home.
Born June 24, 1917 in Westfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late James Thorpe and Bertha (Henshaw Thorpe Pound).
She was a registered nurse with Columbia Memorial Hospital as well as a private duty nurse. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s/Holy Trinity Parish of Hudson.
She is the widow of the late Peter Baretsky, who died in 1978.
Mrs. Baretsky is survived by: two sons, Peter P. Baretsky and (Jean L.) of Dannemora and James W. Baretsky and (Doreen) of Hudson; one sister, Kathleen Hotaling; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by: two brothers, James W. and (Sophie) Thorpe and Clarence Pound; one sister, Helen Thorpe and one great-great-grandchild.
Calling hours will be Sunday, February 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
A Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 17, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s/Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson with Father Winston Bath officiating. Burial will be Tuesday morning, February 18 at Cedar Park Cemetery.
