Mary A. Ryan (1944 – 2014)
CLAVERACK—Mary “May” A. Ryan, 69, of Claverack died at her home January 2.
Born in Ireland, January 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen Ryan.
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she was raised in Bayside, where she attended Blessed Sacrament School.
Ms. Ryan enjoyed working with her friends and coworkers at Taconic Hills Central School for more than 20 years. She was very active in both church and community. Ms. Ryan was outgoing, energetic, full of life, independent, always willing to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on and the heart of the family.
She always looked forward to her weekly card game and night out with the ladies, attending church, traveling, cheering for her grandkids in all activities and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by: her four children, Douglas Durham and wife Kylie of Troutman, NC, Mary Ellen Cologero and husband Robert of Saugerties, Robert Durham and wife Stacey of Troutman, NC, and Lynn Van Wie and husband Justin of Kinderhook; her adoring 12 grandchildren, Robert Cologero, Hailey Durham, Caitlin Cologero, Alexandria Durham, Lindsay Durham, Samantha Durham, Morgan Van Wie, Colton Durham, Taylor Van Wie, Maxine and Ryan Durham and Logan Van Wie; her brother, Desmond Ryan; sister, Patricia Ryan; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, January 7 at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 8, 9 a.m. at St. James Church, Chatham. Interment will follow at Flushing Cemetery.

Joseph Albert McMichael (1920 – 2013)
LADY LAKE, FL—Joseph Albert McMichael, 93, of Summerfield, Florida passed away December 16, 2013 at Lady Lake Specialty Care.
He was born May 27, 1920 in Barrytown to William and Annie McMichael.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during World War II and stormed the beaches at Normandy, liberated Paris and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Purple Heart recipient. After the war, he attended the Philadelphia College of Horology and eventually owned and operated the McMichael Watch and Jewelry Store in Red Hook.
Mr. McMichael is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Helen Marian McMichael; daughter, JoAnn Levy of Bradenton, FL; son, Joseph W. McMichael of Pinson, AL; daughter, Debra Ann Tetro of Germantown; step-daughter, Holly Davis of Bellevue, WA; step-son, Robert Irons of Daytona, FL; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie McMichael; sister, Jessie Leon and brother, Billy McMichael.
Funeral services were held in Florida and the interment will be at Florida National Cemetery.

Joseph F. Davi (1927 – 2014)
HUDSON—Joseph F. Davi, 86, of Hudson passed away peacefully January 3, 2014 at the Firemen’s Home.
He was born June 13, 1927 in Glasco. He was the son of the late Charles Davi and Sarah Machione.
As a young child, his family moved to the Hudson area where he grew up and raised a family.
Mr. Davi served in the United States Army during the 1940s and was stationed in Germany at the conclusion of World War II. He was employed with Construction Laborers Union Local 190 for 35 years. After his retirement, he and his wife Helen relocated to Las Vegas, NV.
Mr. Davi recently returned to New York and resided at the Firemen’s Home.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His priority was his family and he rarely thought of himself. Mr. Davi was a lifelong member of the Elks Club and enjoyed poker, masonry, family gatherings and sharing stories about his youth. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are: his four sons, Joseph Davi (Kim) of Las Vegas, NV, Mark Davi of Rensselaer, Steve Davi of Las Vegas, NV, and Richard Davi (Ruth) of Hudson; five grandchildren, Ryan Davi of Mount Vernon, Stephanie Davi, Nicole Davi and Jacqueline and Edward Gaddis, all of Las Vegas; four great-grandchildren, Mylah Davi, Eli, Evan and Ethan Gaddis, all of Las Vegas; brother, Salvatore Davi of Hudson; sisters, Vincenza Crocco of Albany and Rose Schryver of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Davi was predeceased by his wife, Helen Kobilca Davi; five brothers, Fred, John, Charles, Bardis and Larry; three sisters, Grace Garafalo, Anna Super and Jennie Baxter.
The family expresses its gratitude for the excellent and compassionate care he received as a member at the Firemen’s Home.
Calling hours are Tuesday, January 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Firemen’s Home Chapel followed by a 12:30 p.m. funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in the Cedar Park Cemetery.

Thomas L. Koll (1919 – 2014)
HUDSON—Thomas L. Koll, 94, of Greenport passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born in Ghent, March 24, 1919, he was the son of Otto and Bertha (Hannet) Koll.
Mr. Koll was well-known for his craftsman and carpentry skills in the Hudson area, where he owned and operated his own business.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 1276th Engineer Combat Battalion during World War II, earning many medals and the Presidential Unit Citation. He was a proud member of the Hudson American Legion and the Hudson VFW.
Mr. Koll is survived by: his beloved wife, Katherine (Fletcher) Koll; his niece, Sandra Gorman of Castleton; his nephew, Gary Fletcher of Castleton; many other nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 7 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 8 at the funeral Home.

Patricia Campbell (1936 – 2013)
CRARYVILLE—Patricia Jane Kosnick Campbell, 77, of Craryville passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at her residence.
She was born July 4, 1936 in Hudson, the daughter of the late John P. and Josephine H. (Kulesza) Kosnick.
She was raised in Stottville and was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1953. She later attended the Union University School of Nursing at Albany Medical Center and graduated in 1956.
She later trained and graduated at the Cornell University Hospital in New York City, specializing in coronary care in 1969.
Mrs. Campbell enjoyed a nursing career of more than 50 years. She held various positions at Columbia Memorial Hospital, including nursing supervisor at the hospital, office nurse at the Germantown Primary Care Office, was one of four nurses to open the Intensive Care Unit at Columbia Memorial and had served as office nurse for Dr. James Halstead and Dr. Tampton Mustapha in Hudson. She concluded her career as night supervisor at the Firemen’s Home in Hudson, where she worked for 12 years until her retirement in 2003.
She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Parish where she also served as a Eucharistic minister and on the Bereavement Committee. She was a volunteer for Community Hospice since 2006 and delivered Meals on Wheels in Copake.
On October 6, 1956, she married Royal “Rod” Campbell. He predeceased her in 2005. She was also predeceased by a brother, Jack Kosnick.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Vossler and husband Gerard of Copake, Karen Ralph of Saugerties, Stephen Campbell and wife Linda of Schuylerville, Paula Campbell of Craryville and Mary Beth Rousseau and husband Tony of Lithia, FL. She also leaves 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Mausolf of Greenport; a sister-in-law, Doreen Kosnick of Greenport; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 6, 2014 from Our Lady of Hope Parish, 8074 State Route 22, Copake Falls, with the Reverend George Brennan officiating.
Private interment will be in the Niver Cemetery in Craryville.
