Margie G. Briggs (1924 – 2013)

PHILMONT—Margie G. Briggs, 89, of Livingston passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.

She was born September 10, 1924 in Red Hook, the daughter of the late Irving and Rosella ((Scism) Funk.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Richard O. Briggs in November 2011; two brothers, Irving, Jr. and John, and two sisters, Beatrice and Elizabeth.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She worked at Kadin Bros. for 12 years and at the Adventist Nursing Home for 10 years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge.

She is survived by: four sisters, Mary J. Brennan of Hudson, Lillian (Roger) Hadley of Red Hook, Anna Mae (Robert) Wyant of Elizaville and Catherine Campbell of PA; a sister-in-law, Rose Funk of Elizaville; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours are 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, November 30 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery.

Betty Majercsik Hallenbeck

CLAVERACK—Betty Majercsik Hallenbeck of Claverack passed away Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2013.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. We will miss seeing her at the vegetable stand that was her pride and joy.

Surviving are: her husband, Roger; her son, Carl and his wife, Mary; her granddaughters, Nicole, Laura and Julie; her daughter, Holly Doty and her husband, Brian; granddaughter, Brianne; her brother, Butch Majercsik; her sister, Eva Richie and her husband, Alan.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 27 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Reformed Dutch Church Cemetery in Claverack.

Leonard M. Richmond (1954 – 2013)

RED HOOK—Leonard M. Richmond, 59, of Red Hook passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born October 15, 1954 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Leonard M. Richmond of Hudson and the late Rose (Callomari) Richmond.

Mr. Richmond was employed for many years at Texaco Research Center in Glenham and most recently worked as a consultant in the automotive research industry. He was a longtime member of the Red Hook Car Club and had a passion for MOPAR. His other interests include Harley Davison motorcycles, hunting and guitars. However, his greatest passion was for his children.

Mr. Richmond married Prudence Tinklepaugh January 16, 1988 in Hudson. She survives at home in Red Hook.

In addition to his loving wife and father, he is survived by: his three sons, Leonard Paul Richmond of Harrison, NJ, Andrew Richmond of Loudonville and Parker Richmond of Red Hook; his sister, Patricia Kane of North Carolina; a niece, Lynn Kane of North Carolina; a beloved nephew, Barna Kane of Ulster Park; extended family; countless friends and colleagues.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered November 23, 2013 at St. Christopher’s Church, Red Hook. Interment was private.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie 12601.
