Helen D. Seymour (1921 – 2013)
HILLSDALE—Helen D. Seymour, 92, of Route 22, Hillsdale passed away, Thursday November 14, 2013 at her residence.
She was born February 18, 1921 in New Britain, CT.
Mrs. Seymour was a longtime employee of the Roeliff Jansen School, where she worked as a teacher’s assistant and substitute teacher.
Active in her community, she was a member of the Hillsdale United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, a member of the Roe Jan Historical Society, the Roe Jan Young at Hearters, a 20-year member of the Copake Grange and a 35-year and founding member of the Hillsdale Fire Company Auxiliary.
She married William Seymour at the Hillsdale United Methodist Church, July 8, 1995. He survives her at home. Mr. and Mrs. Seymour enjoyed travelling and visited Ireland, Scotland and Germany abroad and Hawaii and Alaska along with several other states.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John Petith and a son, Clifton Petith.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: a daughter, Sharon Torkilson of Peyton, CO; a son, Jay Petith of West Ghent; eight grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Joan Wood of Myrtle Beach, SC, and several extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake.
Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday, November 18, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Interment will be in the Hillsdale Rural Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsdale United Methodist Church or the Hillsdale Fire Company, both in Hillsdale 12529.

Frank Morrison (1918 – 2013)
ALBANY—Frank Morrison, 95, of Valatie died November 15, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn.
He was born January 23, 1918 in Claverack, the son of the late Joseph and Regina (Stashut) Mottoshiski.
Mr. Morrison was a veteran. He served as a metalsmith, second class with the U.S. Navy Seabee’s in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. He was employed by McCall’s Refrigeration in Greenport for 40 years and after retiring worked part-time for the City of Hudson.
He is survived by: four daughters, Lorraine Shudt of Valatie, Lynnette Smith of Malta, Joyce Dunham of Arizona, and Patricia Bradshaw of South Carolina; two sons, Frank Morrison, Jr., of Colorado and Wayne Morrison of Livingston; 14 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Minerva (Krein) Morrison and 10 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 19 at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson with the Reverend Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, November 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
