Stanley W. Cipkowski (1948 – 2013)

MELROSE—Stanley “Stan” W. Cipkowski, 65, died peacefully at his Melrose home, October 31, 2013.

He was born May 16, 1948 in Hudson and raised on Cape Cod.

Mr. Cipkowski was the founder and CEO of the Kinderhook-based American Bio Medica Corporation, a biotechnology company that develops, manufactures and markets drug-testing kits internationally.

He was a 1966 graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth High School on Cape Cod, served in the merchant marines, and led a love-filled, entrepreneurial life.

A human dynamo, Mr. Cipkowski delighted in family, books, cooking, entertaining, travel, Sinatra and maritime paintings.

He is survived by: six children, Alec, Whitney, Dylan, Sabrina, Lucas and Kayla; his fiancée, Katherine Mittnight; five siblings, Eileen, Ray, Joseph, Marticia and Peter.

Friends are invited to join Mr. Cipkowski’s family in a celebration of his life from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, at the Taconic Wayside Inn, a longtime family establishment, in Copake Falls. A brief ceremony will occur at 4 p.m.

Evelyn Jean Krutzler (1925 – 2013)

CHATHAM—Evelyn Jean Krutzler, 88, of Chatham died Friday, November 1, 2013.

She was born March 20, 1925 and raised in New York City. She relocated to Franklin Square, New York in 1957, where she lived with her family for 28 years before retiring to Chatham in 1985 with her husband of 65 years, Rudy.

Her hobbies included knitting, doll collecting, square dancing and traveling.

Her faith was very important to her. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.

Surviving are: her husband, Rudy; her sons, Kenneth and Randy and her grandchildren, Emma, Chris, Kiley, Timothy and Brian.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 6 at 10 a.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated that day at noon in Saint James Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Saint James Cemetery, Ghent.
