Eunice E. Goodemote
BELLS POND—Eunice E. Goodemote of Bells Pond passed away September 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
A retired licensed practical nurse at the former Adventist Nursing Home in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late Leonard J. Palmatier and Maude Hamm. Born in Livingston, she attended Hudson High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1956, during the Korean Conflict.
She is survived by: her sister, Hazel Smith; her sons, Patrick Mugan of Vero Beach, Florida and James Mugan of Fremont, Nebraska; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several cousins.
Arrangements are with Bates & Anderson Funeral Home. There will be no repose. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to hospice or to the charity of one’s choice.
Marion Lind Anderson (1922 – 2013)
CATSKILL—Marion Lind Anderson, 91, long-time resident of the Town of Canaan, more recently of Home Sweet Home Catskill, passed peacefully into her eternal rest Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
She was born May 10, 1922, to George and Edythe Lind of Brooklyn.
At a very early age her father died of pneumonia, and she lived for a period with her Aunt and Uncle Swenson, missionaries in Rio de Janiero, Argentina. Upon her mother’s remarriage to Ernest Lindmark, she returned to the U.S. and soon her brother, Richard Lindmark was born. After graduation from high school in Brooklyn, she attended secretarial courses. After marrying Sture Anderson, they moved upstate, and Mrs. Anderson worked for Civil Defense, Chatham High School and then retired from her position as secretary in the district offices of Chatham Central Schools. She continued to use her skills as secretary to the Chatham Counseling Center for years, and for many years enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels to fellow residents in Canaan. She amazingly provided care for her first grandchild every day of that precious first year.
Raising their family as active and faithful members in the East Chatham Methodist Church, she and her family later joined the family of the Reformed Church of Chatham for many years. In later years she attended New Baltimore Reformed Church with daughter Janet and family and was loved and loved that church family.
Mrs. Anderson loved and devoted herself to her family and friends, all living plants, and all living things. Her vegetable and flower gardens were gathered from seed catalogs, nurseries, friends, and at roadsides. Her animals were well-loved. She loved to sew, taught 4-H sewing classes, instilled that love in her daughters, and began to quilt, amassing a small collection of her work after providing colorful warmth to her family. Her sense of humor was priceless.
Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by a son, Stuart; her loving husband of 42 years, Sture, in 1983, and her step-grandson, Thomas Fulton in 2007. She is survived by: her children, Carol Anderson of Canaan; Steve (Susan) Anderson of East Chatham; Janet (Dick) Brooks of New Baltimore; granddaughters, Anna Lind Brooks of Chicago, IL; Kristin Elizabeth Anderson of New York City; step-grandsons, Thomas (Jessica) Brooks of Austin, TX; Jason Brooks of Pittstown; John (Nena) Fulton of Wappingers Falls.
Mrs. Anderson’s family extends grateful thanks to the staff of Kaaterskill Nursing and Rehab of Catskill, to the ER and sixth floor nursing staff of Columbia Memorial Hospital for the loving care she received, and to the family of Home Sweet Home where she enjoyed these last 18 months, many minutes watching the waters of the beautiful Hudson River.
A funeral service will be Saturday, October 5, 10 a.m. from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham with the Reverend Susan E. Kerr officiating. Interment will be in the Canaan Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday evening 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a gift to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, New Baltimore Reformed Church and/or the Chatham Public Library.

Nancy Terwillegar (1930 – 2013)
RHINEBECK—Nancy Terwillegar of Rhinebeck died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Born May 22, 1930 in Wappingers Falls, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Rago) Natoli.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved spending time with her family. She lived her life to the fullest.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard J. Terwillegar.
Surviving are: five children, Karin Van Yserloo of Saranac Lake, Cindy DiPasquale of Pennsylvania, Stephen Soltish of Massachusetts, Tracy Terwillegar of Kingston and Heidi Hallock of Hudson; two brothers, John Natoli of Poughkeepsie and Lawrence Natoli of Beacon; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mrs. Terwillegar’s life was held at her daughter, Heidi Hallock’s house, October 2.

Ada C. Grand (1916 – 2013)
LIVINGSTON—Ada C. Grand, 96, of Livingston, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born December 7, 1916 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Dominica (Uggolini) Lippera.
Mrs. Grand was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved cooking and baking for her family. She was especially known for her pies. Mrs. Grand worked as a seamstress in various dress shops throughout Hudson.
She was is the beloved mother of Daria M. Leccese (Roger) of Greenport, Rose M. Johnston of Delmar, John L. Grand (Sylvia) of Arizona, Ralph P. Grand (Mary) of Stottville, Mary C. Dolan (James, Sr.) of Greenport and Doreen Grand-Baretsky (Jim) of Livingston. Also surviving are three sisters, Mary Davi of Catskill, Frances Stone of Columbiaville and Anna Barone of Hudson; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Philip L. Grand; her brother, Nicholas Lippera; two sisters, Gemmy Barone and Dora Graziano.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered October 1 at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson. Interment was in Cedar Park Cemetery.
