Beatrice Elizabeth Drobner (1918 – 2013)
N. CHATHAM—Beatrice Elizabeth Drobner, 94, of North Chatham died Saturday, September 21 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 6, 1918 in Muitzeskill.
Mrs. Drobner graduated from Martin H. Glenn High School in Valatie and furthered her education at Austin Beauty School, Albany to become a hairdresser. She later became a social worker at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.
She was a member of Niverville Home Demonstration, Tri-Village Seniors and the Niverville Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Chester H. and Maude (Miller) Funk; her husband, Kenneth D. Drobner; daughter, Bonnie Lee Drobner; brother, Benjamin Funk, Sr., and sister, Marion Hermann.
Mrs. Drobner is survived by: her children, Carol Pfaff, Judy (Neil)
Scharpf and Robert (Therese) Drobner; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Funeral services will be private and there will be no calling hours. Interment is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Niverville.

Martha T. Kostszewski (1921 – 2013)
PHILMONT—Martha T. Kostszewski, 92, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.
Born August 22, 1921 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Louise (Spiewak) Kostszewski.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by three brothers, Michael, Frank J., and George J. Kostszewski, and her sister, Janice McCan.
She is survived by her devoted nephews, Michael (Susan) Kostszewski of Craryville and Stephen Kostszewski of Claverack.
Ms. Kostszewski served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army Nurse Corps 136th Evacuation Hospital during World War II. She was a registered nurse at Columbia Memorial Hospital for several years. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed belonging to garden clubs. Ms. Kostszewski was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.
Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, September 26 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Stuyvesant Falls.

Jane Baker Monteleone (1947 – 2013)
COPAKE—Jane Baker Monteleone, 66, of Copake died Monday September 23, 2013 at her home.
She was born September 19, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, a daughter of Dora (Bernardo) Reilly Seaver and the late Bernard F. Reilly.
Mrs. Monteleone was employed for more than 45 years by Lakeville Precision Molding, now known as, Illinois Tool Works in Lakeville, CT.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and was a lover of animals. Most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
Mrs. Monteleone was predeceased by the love of her life her husband, Nino Monteleone.
Surviving besides her mother are: her daughters, Sandie and husband Kevin McCarthy of Sharon, CT and Susan Baker of Copake; her grandchildren, Jessica Sherman, Michael Sherman, Kevin Hawver, Jr., Kyle McCarthy and Conor McCarthy; her siblings, George Reilly of Copake, Trudy Gildersleeve of Schodack, Catherine Bromley of North Carolina, Bernard Reilly, III, (Charlotte) of Georgia, David Reilly (Martha) of North Carolina and Joseph Reilly of Newburgh; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, Route 22, Copake Falls. The Reverend George Brennan, pastor, will officiate. There are no calling hours.

Stephen V. Langer (1935 – 2013)
ALBANY—Stephen V. Langer of Red Rock died at St. Peter’s Hospital, September 22 of complications from kidney disease.
He was born February 14, 1935 in Brooklyn to Benjamin and Julia Batchker Langer.
He grew up in Forest Hills, Queens, and graduated from Forest Hills High School in 1953. Mr. Langer studied engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and at City University in New York City, where he was elected to Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
In his professional career, Mr. Langer worked in New York City as an independent computer systems and management consultant and also held management positions at Sperry Rand Corporation, Citibank, Elsevier Science Publishing Company and Covansys.
Always a great believer in community service, he helped found the Harborfields Public Library in Greenlawn in the late 1960s, serving on the library’s Board of Trustees and as the Board’s president. He later served on the Board of Trustees of the Suffolk County Cooperative Library System and as the president of the Nassau Suffolk Counties Library Trustees Association.
When Mr. Langer and his wife, Linda, purchased an old farmhouse in Red Rock 28 years ago, he continued his community service as a volunteer fireman and also was active as a board member of the Red Rock Historical Society, the Friends of the Chatham Public Library and the Chatham Film Club.
Mr. Langer served on the Austerlitz Zoning Commission from 2006 to 2008 and helped to create the first zoning ordinance for the town. He also compiled and edited “Charlie Briggs: Remembrances of Red Rock, Its Places and Its People”, a booklet about Red Rock in the early 1900s that was based on the reflections of Charlie Briggs, a dear friend.
Mr. Langer was known for his logical mind, his offbeat sense of humor, his wonderful photographs, his woodworking talent and his love of sports.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda; his sons, Richard and Gary; four granddaughters and one great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at the Wenk Funeral Home, Chatham, Sunday, September 29 at 2 p.m.
