Linda Mary Jamieson (1935 – 2013)
HUDSON—Linda Mary Jamieson, 78, of Ancram passed away Monday September 16, 2013 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 4, 1935 in Yonkers to the late Walter and Margaret (Fauser) Kupka.
Ms. Jamieson was employed by Moore & More Printing in Millerton and had been previously employed by Undermountain Golf Course in Ancram and the former Independent newspaper.
She was predeceased by her husband, James P. Jamieson in 1992 and a brother, Edward Kupka.
Survivors include: her daughter, Jennifer C. Jamieson and husband Frank Zacarolli of Hillsdale; her beloved grandchildren, Ethan and Sophia Zacarolli, also of Hillsdale; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gail Kupka of Mahopac; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 20, 2013 from the West Copake Reformed Church, 2692 County Route 7.
Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Marvin Charles Rowe (1937 – 2013)
BOIL SPRINGS LAKE, NC—Marvin “Stubby” Charles Rowe, 76, of Boil Springs Lake, NC, formally of the Chatham area, died Monday, September 16 at his residence.
He was born August 5, 1937 in Hudson, the son of the late Clarence H. and Sarah H. Rowe.
He was educated in the Chatham School District. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed at Pier 9 in New York City. He was employed by Crellin’s Plastics, Patnaude Fuel and Paving and drove truck for numerous local companies He was last employed by the Columbia County Highway Department and retired in 2001.
He owned and trained race horses at the Chatham fairground stables and competed at tracks locally and in Canada. His true passion was fishing and he took numerous trips into the backwoods of Canada, as well as, fished in area lakes and those near his home in North Carolina.
Mr. Rowe was a member of the Sanford W. Smith Hook & Ladder Company of the Chatham Fire Department and served as lieutenant until moving out of the fire district. After his retirement he moved to Boiling Springs Lake, NC, where he remained until his death.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Spickerman Blass Rowe. He is survived by: a sister, Joyce (Kenneth) TenBroeck of Niverville; a brother, Gerald (Diane) Rowe of Ghent; nephews, Dean Rowe and Brent Rowe of Ghent, Darren Rowe of Rotterdam, Robert TenBroeck of Great Barrington, MA, and a niece, Karen Cardillo of Stockbridge, MA. Gladys E. Carey (1913 – 2013)
GREENPORT—Gladys E. Carey, 99, of Greenport, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at her residence with her close friends by her side.
Born October 19, 1913 in Passaic, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Elizabeth J. (Poryonda) Carey. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Hudson.
Ms. Carey was employed as a secretary for the Columbia County Health Department for more than 50 years. She was a life member and treasurer of the Church of St. Joseph/St. Mary in Stuyvesant Falls.
She is survived by many close friends, including Melinda Novak of Greenport.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Anne C. Rogers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Church of St. Joseph/St. Mary in Stuyvesant Falls. There will be no calling hours.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Stuyvesant Falls.
