Francine J. Laurentz (1944 – 2013)

HUDSON—Francine J. Laurentz was born July 2, 1944 in Brooklyn. She passed suddenly July 26, 2013 in Hudson.

She is survived by: two daughters, Anamari Laurentz and Sarah Laurentz; a grandson, Vincent Colletti and three sisters, Patricia Dirla, Dorothy Striano and Catherine Janusee.

She was loved by and loved many people.

Friends are invited and may call Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22, Copake.

A Service of Remembrance will be offered at 7 p.m.

Elaine B. Decker (1919 – 2013)

ANCRAMDALE—Elaine B. Decker, 93, of Ancramdale passed away July 28, 2013 at her residence.

She was born November 15, 1919 in Ancram, daughter of Fred and Laura (Studley) Hoysradt.

A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Decker was previously employed at Becton-Dickinson in Canaan, CT, and Lakeville Precision Moulding in Lakeville, CT. She also operated the Brown Cup Diner in Millerton for a few years and later became the night supervisor in the housekeeping department at Sharon Hospital until her retirement in 1985.

She was predeceased by: her husband, Harold in 1974; a brother, Frederick (Bud) Hoysradt and two sisters, Marjorie Decker and Hilda Sherman.

Survivors include: her sons, Harold, Jr. and his wife, Carol Decker of Millerton and Robert Decker of Copake. She also leaves six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Alton Hoysradt of Elizaville, along with several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are with the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Copake.

Earl Houghtaling (1924 – 2013)

HUDSON—Earl Houghtaling, 89, of Greenport died Monday, July 29, 2013 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born February 29, 1924 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Samuel and Katherine Houghtaling.

Mr. Houghtaling was a truck driver for Greenport Lumber.  He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Hudson, Hudson VFW Post #1314 and the Greenport Pumper #1 Fire Company.  Mr. Houghtaling served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He is survived by: two daughters, Michele Houghtaling and Doreen Laurange, both of Hudson; a son, Daniel Houghtaling of Maryland; a step-daughter, Camilla Coxon of Fort Henry; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Houghtaling was predeceased by his wife, Natalie (Conklin) Houghtaling; four brothers, Thomas, Sanford, William and Harold, and daughter, Renee Coxon.

A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, August 2 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday at the West Copake Reformed Church Cemetery.

William E. Phillips (1953 – 2013)

CLERMONT—William E. Phillips, 60, of Clermont died July 26, 2013 at his home.

Born May 5, 1953 in Rhinebeck, he was the son of the late Ralph and Pauline (Gravely) Phillips.

Mr. Phillips worked as a manager at Albany Transport, Inc. in Hudson for more than 10 years.

He was an avid trout fisherman and deer hunter.

Survivors include: his wife, Robin (Larsen) Phillips; four sons, Christopher of Clermont, Timothy and John of Churchtown and Michael of Hudson; two daughters, Tiffany of Clermont and Christina of Valatie; three brothers, David, Donald and Ralph, all of California, and 16 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Sheli Van Wagner and sister, Ann Gravely.

Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 1 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown. Services will follow calling hours at 8 p.m.

Private burial will be in the Viewmont Rural Cemetery, Clermont.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
