Evelyn T. Smith (1920 – 2013)
LIVINGSTON—Evelyn T. Smith, 92, of Livingston, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 14, 1920 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Dwyer.
Mrs. Smith was an executive administrator for the Air National Guard in Purchase, before retiring.
Mrs. Smith and her husband, Howard, moved to Columbia County in 1974, she became a farmer’s wife with all the work and adventures that entails. They worked farmers markets selling their homegrown fruits, berries and chestnuts. She made many batches of jam that her family and friends enjoyed.
Mrs. Smith loved gardening, tending to her flowers, the New York Yankees, and long drives in beautiful Columbia County.
She was known for her delicious potato salad and soups. She loved reading and was a volunteer for many years at the Livingston Library. Mrs. Smith gave her children some wonderful childhood memories, and will truly be missed by all, including her beloved cat, Bunny.
Surviving are: four children, Roberta Cichetti of Livingston, Lorraine (Paul) DiDomenico of Ossining, Diana (Walter) Krawczynski of West Hills, CA, and Paul W. Smith of Livingston; three grandsons, Charles, Jason and Adam, and two great-grandchildren, Max and Thorin.
Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband, Howard, and a son, Ronald C. Smith.
Services are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene or to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.

Peter M. Raihofer (1942 – 2013)
N. CHATHAM—Peter M Raihofer of North Chatham passed away April 27, 2013 after a brief illness.
He was born in Nyack, September 19, 1942, the son of the late Max Raihofer and Elizabeth Seidl Raihofer.
He is survived by the mother of his three daughters, Jude Raihofer of Brooklyn; daughters, Lynda Raihofer Czajka of Pelham, Karen Raihofer of Summit, NJ, and Susan Raihofer of Jersey City, NJ; his sister, Mary E. Raihofer and brother, David S. Raihofer, whom he resided with in North Chatham and his niece, Heidi Raihofer Leonardo of Martha’s Vineyard, MA.
He was the brother of the late Paul L. Raihofer of Valatie. He was a graduate of Nyack High School and spent his childhood in Valley Cottage. Mr. Raihofer graduated from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, in 1964 with a degree in philosophy. While at William and Mary, he was a member of both the cross country and track teams and as a Tribesmen, participated in the Penn Relays.
His early professional career was as an accounts executive with several large brokerage houses in New York City. He worked for and was trained by the Dupont House which was followed by affiliations with E.F. Hutton and Philips, Appel and Walden. Following his career in finance, he relocated to North Chatham to pursue his interest in cabinetry and fine-woodworking and worked for Dan Paul at Peneplain Woodworks. He also had a number of private clients for whom he built Shaker reproductions and Windsor chairs.
Mr. Raihofer had a broad range of interests including the arts and opera, cooking, fishing, sports and travel.
He was a voracious reader and enjoyed extensive conversations with his daughters. His greatest joy was the professional success of his daughters, their family values and their nurturing of his seven grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
Donald L. Moore (1940 – 2013)
HUDSON—Donald “Don” L. Moore, 73, of Hudson passed peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Born March 31, 1940 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Dorothy and James Moore, Sr.
Mr. Moore was a painter and artist. He was the owner of Don Moore Signs for more than 50 years.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church; an avid fisherman, known as the “Bass Master;” enjoyed going to the casinos and played in many rock and roll bands during the 1960s through the 80s, including the “Fownds” and “Confusion.”
Mr. Moore is survived by: his beloved wife of 46 years, Priscilla (Brennan) Moore; his devoted children, Michele Moore Conrad of Long Island and Hudson, Dondi Moore of Arkansas and Hudson and Donald L. Moore, Jr. of Schodack; his brother, Thomas (Carrie) Moore, Sr., of Hudson; his sister, Trudy Moore of Hudson, his sister-in-law, Colleen Moore of Hudson; his aunt, Claire Pazera of Hudson; eight grandchildren, Bobby Burcham, Dondi Moore, Jr., Dallas Moore, Jordan Conrad, Dillon Conrad, and Caitlin, Paige and Jesse Moore; his great-grandson, Dondi Moore, III; several nieces and nephews, including his nephew, Tom (DeAnna) Moore, Jr., who helped him with his business, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Moore, Jr.
Services were held Saturday, May 4 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Burial was in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Clara M. Rogers
SCHENECTADY—Clara M. Rogers, 94, of Clifton Park, beloved wife of the late Donald D. Rogers, passed away January 24, 2013 at the Avenue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Nellie H. (Clum) Moore.
She was a graduate of the Germantown High School, Class of 1936 and was a self-employed hairdresser in Germantown for 20 years.
She was the devoted mother of Ellen C. Rogers of Clifton Park; sister of the late Kenneth Moore, Dorothy Linville and Laura Keil; and the loving aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will gather at 1 p.m., Tuesday May 7, 2013 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown.
Services will be at the Reformed Church Cemetery in Germantown, with the Reverend David Tipple officiating.

Pearline M. Smith
JAMAICA, WEST INDIES—Pearline M. Smith, 72, a long-time resident of Hudson passed away Sunday, March 23, 2013 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Hudson, where she served on the usher board for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Smith. Funeral services were held April 13, 2013 in Jamaica, West Indies, where she was born.
She is sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, other relatives and dear friends.
