Frederick J. Sutherland (1942 – 2013)
GERMANTOWN—Frederick J. Sutherland, 70, of Germantown died Monday, April 1, 2013 at his home.
Born September 19, 1942 in Monticello, he was the son of the late Vincent and Helen (King) Sutherland.
He taught social studies for more than 38 years in the Hudson City School District.
Mr. Sutherland was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish Church of the Resurrection in Germantown, a founding member and long-time president of the Columbia-Greene Federal Credit Union and former president of the Hudson Teachers Association.
Surviving are: his wife, Linda Ann Christiana Sutherland, who he married in 1968 at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson; his son and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Jessica Sutherland of Minnesota.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 5 from the funeral home and 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, where Fr. Winston Bath will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6 in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Monticello.

Frank P. Chiarella (1928 – 2013)
HUDSON—Frank P. Chiarella, 84, of Stockport, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born September 19, 1928 in Newton Hook, he was the son of the late Angelo and Mabel (Graziano) Chiarella.
He married Dorothy Clift.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Local #90 in Albany. He also owned Frank’s Restaurant in Valatie for a time before he retired. He was an avid horseracing fan and loved spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by: his wife, Dorothy (Clift) Chiarella; his daughter, Cindy Cole of Rhinebeck; his son, David Chiarella of Stockport; three sisters, Grace Petromale of Albany, Frances Campeta of Valatie and Mary Ann Pulice of Stockport; one brother, Philip Chiarella of Coxsackie; two grandchildren, Chad Cole of Red Hook and Brandon Cole of Rhinebeck; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
