Stephen J. Kellar (1965 – 2013)
BERLIN—Stephen J. Kellar, 47, of Park Avenue died peacefully at his home, Tuesday evening, February 12 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bennington, VT, October 22, 1965, Mr. Kellar was a lifelong resident of Berlin.
He was a 1983 graduate of Berlin Central High School and a member of the Berlin United Methodist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army July 5, 1983. Mr. Kellar worked W. J. Cowee, Co., Inc. after being honorably discharged. He worked at various jobs through the years. He most recently worked at Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington in the maintenance department. He retired in May 2010 due to illness. He was a life member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company, a former member of the Rensselaer County Auxiliary Police and the Berlin Rescue Squad.
Survivors include: his loving wife, Barbara A. Bentley Kellar, whom he married August 26, 1989 in the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Berlin; his children, Tiffany E. (Chadd) Kiablick and Courtney L. Kellar; his granddaughter, Alicia R. Kiablick “Grandpa’s pride and joy”; his parents, John and JoAnn Michaels Kellar, all of Berlin; two sisters, Tammy J. (Bill) Osterhout of Berlin and Sherri L. (Jim) Willis of Stephentown; his in-laws, Richard and Josie Bentley of Berlin along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services with full fire departmental honors were held Saturday, February 16 at the Berlin United Methodist Church, 17 South Main Street, where Pastor Joy Lowenthal officiated. Interment followed in the Berlin Community Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org or the Rubin Dialysis Clifton Park Center, 21 Crossings Boulevard, Suite B, Clifton Park 12065. Arrangements were under the direction of the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home of Petersburgh.
Kevin Scott Coons (1966 -2013)
HUDSON—Kevin Scott Coons, 46, of Niverville died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born June 13, 1966 in Hudson, he was the son of Ernest P. and Shirley (Miller) Coons.
He worked as a laborer on construction jobs in Hudson.

Margaret H. Plass (1923 – 2013)
ALBANY—Margaret “Mickey” H. Plass, 89, of Latham, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Albany Medical Center.
Born August 1, 1923 in Hudson, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen (Coons) Plass.
She graduated from Hudson High School. Ms. Plass was employed by W.T. Grant in Albany for 32 years as the food counter manager. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and reading autobiographies.
Ms. Plass is survived by: her brother, Robert Plass of Columbiaville; her lifelong companion and dear friend, Kay Oben of Latham; many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Sarah Platner and Alvina Smith.
Services were conducted Monday, February 18 at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.
Burial was in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Anne M. O’Hara (1942 -2013)
ALBANY—Anne M. O’Hara, 71, of Kinderhook died February 14, 2013 at St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born January 12, 1942 in Verona, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ethel Mae Tiersch.
She grew up in Verona and attended Verona High School. She was a talented crafter and general artist. Early in her career, she chose many of the colors used in the original World Trade Center. She was famous for her baking and Christmas dinners. She had a collection of irons and enjoyed “The Wizard of Oz” and her old Ford Falcon car. She loved the Lincoln Zephyr Club and attended car shows and county fairs every year.
She was a generous and loving “Aunt Anne” to her nieces and nephews. Her family loved her and will miss having her in their lives.
She is survived by: her husband, Robert O’Hara; a brother, Theodore Tiersch (Sheran) of Monmouth, NJ; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, February 18 at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook Street, Valatie.
