Royal E. Northup (1918 – 2012)
ALBANY—Royal E. Northup, 94, of Summit Street in Philmont died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Samuel S. Stratton Medical Center.
Born September 26, 1918 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Lionel and Gertrude (Stickles) Northup.
He was on the board of directors of the Bostwick Group of Insurance Agencies in Hudson prior to his retirement.
Mr. Northup served in the Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations with the 276th Infantry Regiment of the 70th Infantry Division. For the Ardennes, Alsace and Rhineland Campaigns, he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
Mr. Northup was a member and former commander of the Minkler-Seery Post 252 of the American Legion in Philmont; the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 5933 in Ghent; the Disabled American Veterans Columbia County Chapter 194; the 70th Infantry Division Association; a charter and life member of the Philmont Rescue Squad; a member and senior warden of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Philmont and a member of the Mellenville Grange. He was a former member of the Columbia Golf and Country Club.
Surviving are: his son and daughter-in-law, Mark C. and Doris Northup of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Tell of Birchwood, MN, Kristen and Michael Faber of Minneapolis, MN, Meghan and Justin Dub of Rosemount, MN, Tracey and Shannon Mannix of North Brookfield, MA, and Scott Northup of Rockville, CT; five great-grandchildren, Elex and Clara Tell of Birchwood, MN, Isis Faber of Minneapolis, MN, Ariana Dub of Rosemount, MN, and Ashlyn Perro of N. Brookfield, MA; his sister-in-law, Mary Northup of Hudson; five nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Elinora Parlman Northup in 1994; his son, Keith E. Northup in 2006 and his brother, Morland Northup in 1977.
Calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 4 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, November 5 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Philmont.
Burial will be in the Mellenville Union Cemetery.

Doris Beeforth Quick (1931 – 2012)
ALBANY—Doris Beeforth Quick passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at the age of 81 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.
She was born September 9, 1931 in Germantown, to John and Golda Beeforth.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Cousino (Tom) of Toledo, Ohio and Barbara Wahlers of Stuyvesant Falls; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Theodore John Quick, Jr.; two sisters, Bernice Denegar Lasher and Helen Smith Drabick and a brother, Emory Smith.
Ms. Quick was employed at Kadin Brothers for almost 30 years and as a bus driver for Pulcher’s for 11 years. She loved animals and cats were her favorite. She leaves behind her beloved Betsy who is finding a new home in Ohio. She volunteered over 10,000 hours to the VA Hospital in Albany. She played an instrumental part in staffing the ice cream program for the veterans.
A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, November 5 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Reverend Mark McDarby officiating.
Burial is in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Stuyvesant Falls.

Frank Jurkowski (1933 – 2012)
POUGHKEEPSIE—Frank Jurkowski, 78, of Livingston died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Vassar Brothers’ Hospital.
Born November 15, 1933 in Bachow, Poland, he was the son of the late Stanley and Sofia Jurkowski.
He was employed for more than 30 years as a quality inspector with General Motors in Tarrytown.
Mr. Jurkowski was a member of the Church of the Resurrection of Germantown.
During his retirement, he enjoyed farming and tending his vineyard.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Skowron Jurkowski; three sons, Steven (Meghan) Jurkowski of Somerville, MA, Stanley (Jolanta) Poland, Raymond (Laurel) of Livingston; three grandchildren, Daniel, Olenka and Adam.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 4 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown.
Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home and 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, Germantown, where a Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Burial will follow in the Nativity Church Cemetery, Linlithgo.
Anna C. Moore (1935 – 2012)
KINGSTON—Anna C. Moore, 77, of Tivoli died Thursday November 1, 2012 at Benedictine Hospital of Kingston.
Born August 29, 1935 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Yerkovich) Pulich.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Schatz Federal Bearing of Poughkeepsie, Bard College and more recently as a receptionist at The Astor Home for Children in Rhinebeck.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Tivoli. Mrs. Moore was devoted to her children and grandchildren, was a very active supporter of the Monumental Masonic Lodge of Tivoli. She enjoyed bingo and loved crocheting and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone.
Surviving are: her daughters, Patricia (Karl) Chorney of Red Hook, Elizabeth (Bill) Spence of Lewisburg, TN and Catherine (Matt) Briggs of Tivoli; a sister, Mae Hamm of Hyde Park; grandchildren. James Minkler, Jr., Devon Chorney, Brendon Chorney, Bill Spence, Amanda Spence, Kyle Briggs and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Moore was predeceased by her husband, Donald, who died in 1983.
Calling hours will be Monday, November 5, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 6 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Tivoli with the Reverend Sharon H. C. Clayton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Reformed Church Cemetery, Germantown.
