Zenophil Bleau, Jr. (1918 – 2012)
LIVINGSTON—Zenophil J. “Phil” Bleau, Jr., 94, of Greenport died Tuesday, October 9 at Livingston Hills Nursing Home.
Born in Lapraie, Canada, May 2, 1918, he was the son of the late Zenophile and Briddie (O’Carroll) Bleau.
Mr. Bleau was a cook for many years at local restaurants throughout New York and Massachusetts. He was a World War II veteran and served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Hudson Elks Lodge #787, as well as, the Hudson Moose Lodge.
Mr. Bleau was predeceased by his wife, Ethel A. Harris, who died August 21, 1997.
Survivors include: his son, Dana Mitchell Bleau of Hudson; numerous grandchildren including, Krista Dallas, Justin and Derrick Boulais and many great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sons, Phillip and Gilbert Bleau.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 11 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services are Friday, October 12, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Mother Roseann Felty officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery Hudson.
Eleanor Johnson (1928 – 2012)
GHENT—Eleanor B. Johnson, 84, of Livingston died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Whittier Nursing Home.
Born September 16, 1928 in Manchester, NH, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Roach) Field.
Before her retirement, she was employed as a nurse’s aide.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Livingston.
Surviving are: her husband, Norman Johnson, a resident of the Whittier Nursing Home and three sisters, Joann Clifford of CT, Muriel Lyons of MA, and Joyce Millet of Nova Scotia.
Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 11 at the Whittier Nursing Home, Ghent.
Burial will be in the Linlithgo Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown.
