Carmine Pizza (1940 – 2012)

CATSKILL—Carmine A. Pizza, 72, of Hudson, died Saturday, September 1 at Katterskill Care.

Born April 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Rocco and Anna (Barca) Pizza.

Mr. Pizza was a graduate of St. Michaels College in Vermont and earned his master’s in genetic science from the University of Buffalo. He was the former owner of WCKL Radio in Catskill and was the voice behind radio personality “Frank Jolly.” He was later the Town of Greenport assessor and retired in 2007. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara B. Pizza in 1995. Mr. Pizza will be greatly missed by his daughter, Jennifer and (Rick) Ganey of Hudson; two brothers, Joseph (Florence) Pizza of Hudson and Rocco (Kathy) Pizza of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Alexis, Jacob and Ainsley; as well as, his beloved dogs, Frankie and Freddie. Funeral services were private at the Sacco-McDonald Valenti Funeral Home, Greenport with Deacon Charles O’Neill officiating. Burial was at Cedar Park Cemetery.

Eugenia Celelli (1951 – 2012)

HUDSON—Eugenia M. Celelli, 60, of Hudson died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her home.

She was born November 15, 1951 in Rhinebeck, the daughter of the late Eugene and Rosemarie (Caggianelli) Celelli.

She is survived by: her sister, Rosemarie Costello of Port Jefferson Station; one nephew, Thomas Costello; one niece, Leigh and (Brian) Jacoviello; as well as, several uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, August 31 at St. Mary’s Church of Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson, with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial followed in the family plot at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, will be greatly appreciated to the Special Needs Program, P.O. Box 349 Ghent 12075.

Arrangements were with the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
