Carolyne Moon (1926 – 2012)

CHATHAM—Carolyne A. Moon of Chatham passed away June 19, 2012.

She was born September 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Alice Mary Christianson Champney.

She married the late James Moon on December 26, 1945. She was the mother of James A. (Judy), Sharon A. of East Chatham, Brad A. (Anita) of Homasassa, FL, Terry A. (Mary) of East Chatham; grandmother of Leeann Guest, Brian, Evan, David, Willy, Adam, Jennifer and Jessica Moon.

She was predeceased her granddaughters Courtney and Amanda Moon.

Mrs. Moon was a lifelong waitress and gave helpful hints to all the wait staff wherever she ate. Her favorite place to eat was Applebees. She was an avid bingo player.

A public graveside service will be conducted June 24, 2012, 2 p.m. at the Cemetery of the Maples, East Chatham.

Sharon Bratton (1965 – 2012)

ALBANY—Sharon Lynn Bratton, 46, of Hudson, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Peter’s Hospice in Albany.

Born October 25, 1965 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hilda Potts.

Mrs. Bratton was a registered nurse at Columbia Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years, and was an active member of Emanuel/St. John’s Lutheran Parish in Hudson. She was a caring, helpful and generous person.  She enjoyed playing cards.

Surviving are her devoted husband, Robert Bratton of Hudson; her loving siblings, Thomas (Deborah) Potts of Utah and Susan (Arthur) June of Stuyvesant Falls; her beloved aunts, Margaret “Peg” Houghtaling of Greenport and Mildred Grintner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents, Caroline and Lloyd Potts and William and Emma Wurster and two uncles and one aunt, Harold and Kiki Wurster and Willis Grinter.

Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 24 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emanuel/St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hudson.

Robert Navarra (1948 – 2012)

ALBANY—Robert (Bob) Navarra, 64, of East Nassau peacefully passed away Thursday, June 21 at The Hospice Inn at St Peter’s Hospital.

He was born in Queens, December 17, 1948, the son of the late Mario and Jenny Navarra.

Mr. Navarra worked for Sterling Winthrop as a chemical operator for 21 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan (Brust) Navarra of East Nassau; daughters, Chris and her husband Scott Monthie of Stockport, Justine and her husband Todd Dyer of Chatham; two cherished granddaughters, Zoe and Olivia Dyer; a sister, Betty and husband, Artie Harding of Long Island; brother, Danny Navarra of East Nassau and his very best friends, Kenny and Mary Lou Croyle.

Mr. Navarra was a devoted husband, father, brother, Papa and friend whose first concerns were always for the comfort and happiness of his family and friends. He was a generous and loving person who will be greatly missed by all he touched.
