Alice Rizzi, 82, nurse’s aide at Pine Haven
GHENT—Alice J. Rizzi, 82, of Ghent died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her home.
Born in Manhattan, August 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Amelia (Poore) Reinhard.
Mrs. Rizzi was a nurse’s aide at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Philmont for many years. She was the widow of Frank A. Rizzi, who died in 1969.
She is survived by: three sons, Frank Rizzi and Richard Rizzi both of Ghent, Anthony (Patricia) Rizzi of Valatie; four daughters, Diana (Paul) Kalbacher of Catskill, Alice (Ozzie) Shook of Greenport, Kathleen Baudendistel of Lakeland, FL and Nancy (Don) Thorsey of Valatie; as well as, many grand and great-grandchildren. There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will to be planned at a later date. Arrangements are with the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, Greenport.
Harold Hamblet, Jr., 82, WWII vet, owned eateries
HUDSON—Harold A. Hamblet, Jr., 82, of Hawthorne Drive, Valatie died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born in Staten Island, May 30, 1929, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Helen (Henry) Hamblet, Sr.
Mr. Hamblet served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence University and was the former owner of Jimmies and Burger King in Schodack.
He is survived by: his wife, Patricia A. (Kennedy) Hamblet of Valatie; six children, Christine Waible of Rutland, MA, Harold Hamblet of Savannah, James Hamblet of Rotterdam, Debra Demarest of Valatie, Howard J. Goodrich of Saugerties, and Burnett F. Goodrich of Scotia; a sister, Marion Hopkins of South Carolina; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother Frederick Hamblet.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Valatie.
