Louise Miller, 98, RN, DAR member

PHILMONT—Louise J. Miller, 98, of Chatham, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.

Born August 5, 1913 in Claverack, she was the daughter of the late Elbie and Milicent (Dedrick) Miller.

Ms. Miller was a graduate of Hudson High School, the Hudson City Hospital School of Nursing and received a bachelor of science degree from Russell Sage College. She was a registered nurse and a nursing supervisor at Columbia Memorial Hospital for more than 29 years before retiring.

She served in the US Army Nurse Corp from 1943 to 1945 in France. She was a member of the Philmont Reformed Church, a member of the D.A.R., and a member of the Greenport Garden Club.

Ms. Miller is survived by several cousins and their families and many friends.

There will be no calling hours.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 6 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the West Ghent Cemetery.

Amadio Galdorisi, 90, cook, friend to mankind

KINDERHOOK—Amadio Galdorisi, 90, of Broad Street, Kinderhook died Monday, October 3 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, October 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Amadio and Adorata (Magione) Galdorisi.

Mr. Galdorisi was an avid cook and a friend to mankind.

He is survived by his family in Kinderhook, Deguere and Rod Blackburn, Mara, Logan and Christian.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.

Olive Wanner, 92, devoted friend, active in aerobics

VALATIE—Olive Georgiana Wanner passed away peacefully October 2, 2011 at Barnwell Nursing Home.

She was born November 6, 1918 to the late George and Olive (Tremper) Wanner in New York City.

On April 9, 1939, she married William F. Wanner and together they raised their family. They lived in Teaneck, NJ until 1961, when they moved to Chatham.

They were married for more than 68 years until his death in 2007. Mrs. Wanner was a member of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Chatham since 1961 and served on the altar guild. She was a member of the Chatham Women’s Business Club for many years and was an active aerobic participant with the Firmettes for more than 20 years, retiring at the age of 87.

She was a devoted friend, sage counsel and confidant to many. She was the beloved mother of Lt. Col. Ronald (Barbara) Wanner of NH, Kenneth (Mary) Wanner of FL and Joan (Patrick) Wemitt of Chatham. Mrs. Wanner was the treasured grandmother of Kimberly (Rick) Bonefant of NH, Kelly (Robert) Bolton of NH, Lt. Col. Robert (Traci) Wanner of AK, Scott (Susan) Wanner of MA, Eric (Katrina) Wemitt of CT and Jason (Hannah) Wemitt of KY. She is survived also by 12 great-grandchildren; two nieces; sisters, Barbara Moran of St Joseph’s of Peace, NJ and Alicia Franco. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Bessie Moran.

The family thanks hospice for its care during her last few months and also the staff at Barnwell Nursing Home especially the first floor.

Calling hours will be Saturday, October 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wenk Funeral Home, Chatham. A funeral service will follow at St Luke’s Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at the Chatham Rural Cemetery.

Allen Schuenhoff, 64, security guard

ALBANY—Allen P. Schuenhoff, 64, of Germantown died Friday, September 30, 2011 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.

Born October 26, 1946 in Rockville Center, he was the son of the late George W. and Marie (Schroder) Schuenhoff.

Mr. Schuenhoff was a well-respected active member of the community, a member of the United Methodist Church of Germantown, the Lynbrook-Massapequa Masonic Lodge #822 of Long Island. He served on the Germantown Central School Board of Education, the Germantown Parks Commission and was a Germantown assessor.

He had worked as a security guard for New York State Parks and Recreation at Clermont State Historic Site and Olana for many years and drive school bus for both the Germantown and the Hudson City central school districts. He was always available to drive bus for extracurricular activities.

Mr. Schuenhoff is survived by April Meredith of Kinderhook and Heather Guido-Casey of Niverville, to whom he was a surrogate father; his sister-in-law, Joy Schuenhoff of NH and FL; two nephews, Robert Schuenhoff of FL and Stephen Schuenhoff of IN and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert.

Funeral services were October 5 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown, with the Reverend Mark Frickey officiating.

Private cremation was held at the Cedar Hill Crematory of Newburgh.

Frank Esposito, 62, Vietnam vet, loved animals

PITTSFIELD, MA—Frank C. Esposito, 62, of Pittsfield, MA and formerly of the Dutch Village of Greenport died Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Pittsfield.

Born December 15, 1948 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Pollock) Esposito.

He served with the US Army during the Vietnam era. While living in Greenport he was a member of the Hudson Fish and Game Club. He was an avid sportsman who loved animals.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as an electrician at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park for many years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Cynthia Hapeman of Livingston and Christine Tomlin of Germantown; his partner in life, Shirley O’Donnell of Pittsfield; a brother, Joseph Esposito of AZ; a sister, Maureen of FL; loving granddaughter; Emma and other grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Alma and daughter Melissa.

A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown.

Services will be 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Theodore Gerken officiating.

Interment will follow in the Livingston Cemetery.
