Doris Jablanski, 86, office administrator, liked to shop
HUDSON—Doris S. Jablanski, 86, of Greenport, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born February 9, 1925 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Olive (Parsons) Simmons.
Mrs. Jablanski was an office administrator at BridleWood Arabians in Hillsdale. She was a member of the Philmont Methodist Church and enjoyed shopping and eating out. Mrs. Jablanski was devoted to her family and friends and was always ready to help anyone.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Steven Jablanski in 2009.
She was the beloved mother of Steven E. Jablanski of Philmont, Jay C. (Debra) Jablanski of Hudson and Linda (Edward) Murphy of Hudson; devoted grandmother of Steven E. (Lisa) Jacklin of Winterhaven, FL, Stacy (Wayne) Williams of Lakeland, FL, Darrin (Penelope) Harr of Indian Lake, Jodie (Andrew) Seymour of Indian Lake, Jamie Harr of Catskill, Abby (Jeremy) Jablanski of Copake and J.C. Jablanski, Jr. of Schodack; loving sister of Rose E. Taylor of Greenport. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law, Ann Dallas of Greenport, her dear friend, Carol “Corky” Clough of Philmont, and her extended family at Joslen Commons.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert E. Simmons.
Funeral services were October 5 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mellenville Union Cemetery.

Paul Roberts, 75, worked for Cermaseal, conversationalist
NEW LEBANON—Paul Wayne Roberts, 75, died peacefully at home Friday, September 30, 2011 with his wife Joan at his side.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, September 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Willard and Elene Dymond Roberts.
A lifelong resident of New Lebanon, Mr. Roberts was a 1954 graduate of New Lebanon Central School. He was employed by the Columbia County Highway Department for 4 years and later worked for more than 39 years at Ceramaseal in New Lebanon, first as a draftsman then maintenance supervisor before retiring in April 1999.
He was best known for his faithful 44 years as tech inspector at Lebanon Valley Speedway and Dragway. He was a member of the Lebanon Valley Protective Association since 18 years of age. He was an avid conversationalist as many well know from the recycle center, post office, flea market and beyond.
He was the beloved husband of 54 years of Joan Conklin Roberts; loving father of Kimberly Marie (Tim) Hann of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Michael Wayne (Cindy) Roberts of Eagle, ID, Kevin William (Patty) Roberts of St. Petersburgh, FL and Lynn Marie (Rick) Gale of Lebanon, IL; grandfather of Kyle, Brittany, Alexis and Spencer; brother of Lillian Mercier of Troy, Janice Finney of Adams and Beverly Kie of Plattsburgh. He is also survived by three cousins, John, Barbara and Robert and 22 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 State Route 43, Stephentown, Wednesday, October 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service takes place at 6:30 p.m. with the Reverend Ed Harkins, racetrack chaplain, officiating. Julia Krisniski, 91, cosmetology teacher
PHILMONT—Julia Krisniski, of 167 Spring Road, Livingston died Monday, October 3, 2011 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.
Born in Hudson, November 5, 1919, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Kierylow) Gorecki.
She is survived by her friend and companion, Heather and Duane Mabb; two sons, Peter J. Krisniski, Jr. and Susan Lindberg of Wappingers Falls and James and Claudia Krisniski of Livingston; one sister, Johanna DeLavalle of Stamford, CT; six grandchildren, Laura and Jamie Kovalaske of Cary, NC, Melissa and Jen Hein of Middletown, CT, Robert and Steffa Krisniski of Livingston, Amy Krisniski of Troy, Abigail Krisniski of Albany and Betsi Krisniski of Livingston; three great-grandchildren, Katie Ann and Jack David Kovalaske of Cary, NC, and Autumn Sky Krisniski of Livingston; two nephews, Frank Gorecki of Olympia, WA and Michael Scott of New York City; three nieces, Marian and Robert Jordan and Barbara Griffin, all of Stamford, CT, and Karen and Jeff Dylong of Scotia; two cousins, Helen and Quentin Moore of Livingston and Janette and Wally Hirsch of Old Saybrook, CT.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Krisniski, Sr., her brother, Frank Gorecki, and her sister, Helen Scott.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Hudson, a graduate of Hudson High (class of 1937), a student of Oswego State University, a member of AARP and a member of the NYS Teachers Association. She was a beloved cosmetology teacher with the former BOCES Center in Philmont and Hudson until her retirement.
Calling hours are 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 7 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
