Susan Heath, 50, bank manager, liked to cook

HILLSDALE—Susan A. Heath, 50, of Anthony Street Extension in Hillsdale passed away at her residence, Tuesday July 12, 2011.

She was born August 2, 1960 in Hudson, the daughter of Harry W. Heath Jr. of Port Orange, FL and the late Shirley (Snow) Heath.

 

A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Taconic Hills High School in 1978.

She worked locally in the banking industry for more than 20 years, beginning as a teller and later serving as a branch manager of Hudson City Savings Institution. She also worked at Bill’s Pharmacy in Great Barrington, MA and most recently in the admissions department at Fairview Hospital, Great Barrington.

Ms. Heath enjoyed cooking and making holiday meals for family and friends along with traveling.

Survivors include her father and step-mother, Harry and Maura Heath of Florida; three brothers, Billy Heath and Harry W. Heath III, both of Hillsdale and Edward Murphy of Hudson. She also leaves her cherished nephew Zachary Heath of Hillsdale along with step-brother, Matthew Atwood of Ballston Lake and step-sisters, Patricia Miller of Florence, SC and Christine LaPorta of Niskayuna.  In addition, she leaves several extended family members and close friends.

Her funeral service was held Saturday July 16, 2011 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22, Copake, with the Reverend Esther Chappuis officiating. Interment followed in Copake Cemetery.

Bach Vo, 54, machinist

HUDSON—Bach Vo, 54, of Greenport passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born in Vietnam October 15, 1956, he was the son of Nua Vo and Chi (Thai) Vo.

Mr. Vo was employed as a machinist at Saturn Industries in Greenport.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Anh (Buu) Vo of Greenport; his devoted daughter, Caera Vo of Albany, and many special brothers and sisters in Vietnam and their families.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 16 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Services will be held at 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home. To send condolences visit www.batesanderson.com.

George VanAllen, 66, Thruway inspector

HUDSON—George Kent VanAllen, 66, of Route 9, Valatie died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital at 8:11 p.m.

Born in Valatie, December 2, 1944, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Banck) VanAllen.

Mr. VanAllen was an inspector for the New York State Thruway from Albany to Buffalo and an investigator for Re-Act in Kinderhook.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne M. (Amann) VanAllen of Valatie; a daughter, Shana VanAllen of Nassau; two step-children, Rene’ White of Nassau and Anthony White (Christine) of Rockland, MA; two sisters, Gail Santimore of Canton and Joanne Cervonne of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Zachary Francis, Tyler White, Dylan White, Mia Isabella, Dominick White, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 16 at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, lnc., Route 9, Valatie with Pastor Michael Brennan officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie.

ln lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill 12414. Family and friends gathered at the VanAllen home following the cemetery service.
