Matilda Myers, 92, camper, bowler
MINOA—Matilda Myers, 92, of Lakeland passed away Saturday, July 2, 20 11 at The Crossings in Minoa.
Born in Germantown to Jacob and Elizabeth (Hirschmann) Coons, she lived in Hudson until moving to Syracuse in 1940.
She and her husband were members of the Crucible Steel Retirees Club, and enjoyed camping following retirement. She was an avid bowler and longtime member of the NYSWBA. As a homemaker, she loved to cook for her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Matthew; a son, Egbert and a daughter, Edna Bartlett.
She is survived by: two daughters, Linda (Fred) McKinney of Syracuse and Ellen (Kenneth) French, of WV; two sons, Frederick and Allen Myers, both of Syracuse; a daughter-in-law, Joan Myers of Fairmount; a son-in-law, Russell Bartlett of Cicero; 30 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home in Hudson, July 9. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenport.

Mary Davidson, 68, professor, traveler
ALBANY—Mary H. Davidson, 68, of Claverack, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Albany Medical Center.
Born March 13, 1943 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Jeanette (Deady) Davidson.
Ms. Davidson was a professor of human services at Columbia-Greene Community College. She retired after 30 years of teaching. She earned her master’s degree at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in teaching.
She was a past board member of the Philmont Hearth and the Mental Health Association of Columbia and Greene counties, and a member and vestry member, of Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson. She loved to travel and was devoted to her grandchildren.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mary Sapp of West Sand Lake and Michelle (Marc) Clark of Claverack; four grandchildren, Jeanette Gabriele of Hudson, Haley and Brennan Clark, both of Claverack, and Zoey Sapp of West Sand Lake and several cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
Services were conducted Tuesday, July 12 at Christ Church Episcopal, 431 Union Street, Hudson. A reception followed in the church hall.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Kenneth Huber, 78, farmer, engineer
GHENT—Kenneth Andreas Huber passed away July 8 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 11, 1932 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Johanna (Miller) and Frederick Huber.
In 1949, he and his family moved away from the city to Spencertown, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. In 1950, Mr. Huber graduated from Chatham High School.
In 1953, the family bought another dairy farm and moved to West Ghent.
Mr. Huber joined the US Navy and served from 1953 until 1957. He was aboard the USS New Jersey and served in the military police. When he returned home, he continued farming with his brother Fred.
On November 26, 1960, he married Elizabeth (Bonnie) McNamara. They were married 50 years. In 1975, after selling the dairy farm, Mr. Huber and his brother Fred attended school in Syracuse for drafting and engineering.
Mr. Huber went to work for the Albany Design Company, and Newman and Doll, where he served as clerk of the works for the Hudson Urban Renewal Project. He was also employed as superintendent of Callanan Industries.
In 1987, Mr. Huber joined the Eddy Northeast Health Foundation as the director of construction.
He was instrumental in building The Heritage House in Troy, The Cohoes Rehabilitation Center and The Beverwyk Retirement Community. He retired from Northeast Health in 2005.
Mr. Huber loved to travel. He visited Germany Austria, Ireland, England, Scotland, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta Mexico, Las Vegas, San Francisco and enjoyed many cruises.
He loved to play and watch golf. He attended the AT&T Classic at Pebble Beach, the Masters at Augusta and the Ryder Cup in Michigan.
He was a voracious reader, the family Jeopardy champion and their go-to person for everything. He will be remembered as a good husband, father, brother, friend—a good man.
He is survived by: his wife, the love of his life, Elizabeth Bonnie Huber; his daughters, Kathleen (James) Gorman, Kim Huber, Karen (Ricardo) Gonzalez, Kendra Huber; brother and friend, Frederick and sister-in-law Barbara Huber of West Ghent; grandchildren, Kristin Gorman, Kenneth Gorman, Kevin Gorman, Kadrian Laporte and Shonte’ Walker; great grandchildren, Kasey Moore, Kolyn Gorman and Klaudia Vitale; brothers-and sisters-in-law, John (Susan) McNamara of Virginia Beach, VA, William (Bettylou) McNamara of Stottville, Donald (Arlene) Tillson of Hudson and Denise (Kim) Douglas of Claverack; nieces and nephews, Heidi Huber Grandinetti, Peter Huber, James McNamara, Susan McNamara Leyes, Elizabeth McNamara, Raymond Johnson, Todd Tillson, Ryan Scalera, Nathan Scalera, Susan Rothe, Barbra Schaal and Joanne Ehmer; his lifelong best friend, Jim Heintz (Marcy); and Goddaughter, Gina Gismondi.
The family thanks Dr. George Davis, Janice McGlaughlin, Gregor MacDonald and Adessa Rice (hospice) for their compassion and caring ways.

Adaline Sitser, 82, worked at laundry, KAZ
PHILMONT—Adaline Sitser, 82, of Hollowville passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Pine Haven Nursing Home.
Born November 15, 1928 in Tivoli, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Edith (Rhynders) Coon.
Mrs. Sitser worked for Carpenter’s Laundry in Hudson for many years and in the assembly department at KAZ, Inc. She was devoted to her family; they were always her top priority.
She was the beloved wife of 63 years of George W. Sitser, who died in June.
Mrs. Sitser was the devoted mother of Robert J. (Deborah) Sitser of Craryville and Linda J. Wolfe of Hollowville; beloved grandmother of Robert V. Sitser of Ghent, Tiffeny Cantu of Valatie, Mary Jo Burger of Hudson, Danielle Kush of Delmar, Kinberly Bowen of Johnsonville and Todd Wolfe of Sandy Creek; and loving sister of Beverly “Betty” Hoyt of Hudson, Phyllis Mottoshiski of Stottville, Patty Jennings of Livingston and Harold Coon, Jr. of Amsterdam. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Harry, Roger, Robert, Marie, and Barbara Coon, Margaret Miller, Carolyn Scism and Shirley Minkler, and her son-in-law, Joseph Wolfe.
Funeral services were held July 12 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
