Robert Bashford, 62, electrician, carpenter

KINGSTON—Robert K. (Bob) Bashford, 62, of Elm Street, Philmont, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Kingston Hospital.

Born in Derby, CT, May 29, 1949, he was the son of the late Howard and Alma (Hein) Bashford.

Mr. Bashford was a self-employed electrician/carpenter in the area for many years and an avid bass fisherman.

He is survived by: his daughter, Samantha Bashford of Philmont; three sisters, Patricia Schaff of Ghent, Karen Hatch of East Nassau and Dodie Krambeck of Hudson; a brother, Peter Bashford of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Lenny and Larry Bashford.

A graveside service was held Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m. in Firwood Cemetery, Stuyvesant. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Valatie.

George Heath, 78, trucker, true Red Sox fan

VALATIE—George H. Heath, 78, of White Mills Road, Valatie died Wednesday June 22, 2011 at his home.

Born in Tyringham, MA, April 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Alton and Fanny (Brazee) Heath.

Mr. Heath was a truck driver for over 60 years, most recently hauling flour for Cargil in Albany. He was an avid fisherman and a true and dedicated Boston Red Sox fan, as well as, a fan all of the Massachusetts sports teams.

He is survived by: his wife Lorraine (Bink) Heath; two stepchildren, Heather Klauck (Jim) of Lagrange, KY, and Eric Madden (Jayme) of Lumberton

NJ; four sons, David, Douglas, Christopher and Timothy Heath; three sisters and one brother, Mabel Sheridan (Richard) and Kay Pratt (Arnold) both of Monterey, MA, Pauline Johndrow (Al) and Harold Heath both of East Lee, MA; two grandchildren, Olivia and Daniel Madden and several

nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, George Howard Heath, Jr. and siblings Adaliade Brown, Mae Perry, Janice Washburn, Cort, Alton Jr., Herbie and Richard Heath.

The family thanks all of the staff at Community Hospice for their kind and gentle care.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill 12414. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Valatie.

George Ludwig, Sr., 67, handyman, Army vet

HUDSON—George E. Ludwig, Sr., 67, of Claverack died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born November 30, 1943 in Cold Spring, he was the son of the late Robert and Martha (Lent) Ludwig.

Mr. Ludwig was a self-employed handyman, who did several jobs including roofing, flooring and truck driving. He served in the US Army from 1961 to 1964 earning the Expert Marksman (Rifle M-14) and Driver and Mechanic badge with bar.

He is survived by: his wife, Louise (Crosby) Ludwig of Claverack; six children, Shevon Ludwig Gansowski of Stockport, George E. Ludwig, Jr., George E. Ludwig, III, Christopher Ludwig, Daniel Ludwig and John Ludwig, all of Hudson; one grandchild, Carmello Davis Gansowski; six siblings, Margaret Sickler of Beacon, Leo Ludwig, Henry Ludwig, Michael Ludwig, Frank Ludwig and Martha Ludwig, all of Poughkeepsie, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three siblings, John Ludwig, Robert Ludwig, Jr. and Grace Connelly.
