Mary Libruk, 90, proud and loving mother

TROY—Mary A. Libruk, 90, of Town Hall Drive, Greenport  passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord after a brief illness, Saturday, May 7, 2011 with family at her side at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Mrs. Libruk retired from the Hudson City School District in 1986.

She was the proud and loving mother of Patricia (John) Drahushuk of Castleton, John M. (Gina) Libruk of Claverack and Mark W. (Renae) Libruk of Philmont. She was the best grandmother to Audra and Andy Bennett of Syracuse, Lauren and Aviv Bachan of PA, Tara Libruk, Morgan Libruk and Aaron Libruk, all of Hudson; great grandmother to Jordan, Faith and Jaelynn Libruk. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and her “church family” whom she loved very much.

Mrs. Libruk was predeceased by her husband and “true love” in January, 1979; her mother, Petrina Piazza; sister, Laura Quarta; and brother Frank Piazza.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 10, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bates and Anderson Funeral Home, Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 11, 10 a.m. at Christ Church Episcopal with Father John Perry officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the M. Grimaldi Funeral Home.

Roger Wilms, 54, worked at Coarc, church member

HUDSON—Roger Wilms, 54, of Greenport, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born March 8, 1957 in Hudson, he was the son of the late John and Mabel Wilms.

Mr. Wilms was an assembler for Coarc and a member of People’s Bible Church in Claverack.

Surviving are his wife, Vera (Van Wagner) Wilms; five siblings, Roy, Donald and Theodore Wilms, Darlene Morrison and Linda Theisen; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward Wilms and Barbara Carswell.

A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the Bates & Anderson Funeral Home, with services following at 2 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
