Helen Rogers, 61, sense of humor, loved animals
HUDSON—Helen F. Rogers, 61, of Craryville died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Born October 5, 1949 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Edison and Emma (Denegar) Lasher.
Mrs. Rogers was a nurse’s aide at the Firemen’s Home in Hudson for more than 30 years.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed using her computer. She loved animals, including her bird Scrapper, enjoyed the outdoors and was known for her sense of humor.
Survivors include: her husband, Donald; two sons, Donald of Ancram and William of Craryville; a brother, Peter Lasher of Germantown; a sister, Gail Bilyou of Red Hook; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was conducted at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown, Thursday, May 5, with the Rev. Mark Frickey officiating.

Josephine Palumbo, 95, Young-At-Hearter, homemaker
RHINEBECK—Josephine J. Palumbo, 95, of Taconic Shores, Copake passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Baptist Home.
She was born December 1, 1915 in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Skiba) Kowalski.
A homemaker, Mrs. Palumbo moved to Copake 30 years ago from Poughkeepsie.
At one time, she and her late husband, Anthony, were members of the Poughkeepsie Elks Club along with the Roe Jan Area Young-At-Hearters.
Survivors include: her sons, Anthony Palumbo of Millerton and James Palumbo of Las Vegas, NV; her daughters, Patricia Palumbo of Mt. Vernon and Mary Ann Palumbo of Somers; a granddaughter, Stevie Klein of Colorado.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Patricia Willis, 82, nurse’s aide
HUDSON—Patricia M. Willis, 82, of Copake Falls died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 3, 1928 in New York City, a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Graf) Fallon.
Mrs. Willis was a nurse’s aide at the Pines Nursing Home in Great Barrington, MA.
Survivors include: her son, Mark Willis of Copake Falls; four grandchildren, Zach Willis, Beth Almstead and Billy and Devin Baldwin; and a sister, Nancy Thorsen of Averill Park.
She was predeceased by three children, Mary Willis, Carol Willis and Paul Willis, along with a sister, Elizabeth O’Connell.
A Service of Remembrance will be offered Saturday May 7, 2011, 1 p.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22, Copake.
Private interment will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Copake Falls.
