Mary Bauhoff, 89, homemaker, church member
VALATIE—Mary Nancy (Pontillo) Bauhoff of Claverack passed away peacefully Monday, March 14, 2011 at Barnwell Nursing Home. She was 89.
Born March 25, 1921 she was the daughter of the late John and Teresa Pontillo.
Mrs. Bauhoff was a homemaker and member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hudson. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Morrone at a very early age. She later remarried and was predeceased by Christian John Bauhoff.
She is survived by: one son, Frank and (Mary) Morrone Sr. of Copake; two brothers, Albert and (Rachael) Pontillo of Wisconsin and Frank Pontillo of New York City; two sisters, Helen and (Charles) Hoffman of Hudson and Josie Aiello of New York City; two grandchildren, Cynthia Morrone (Fran Wilkinson) of Valatie and Frank Morrone, Jr. and (Kathleen) Morrone of Ravena; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by two sisters; Mildred and Camella Pontillo.
Funeral services were March 17 at the McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
Deacon Charles O’Neill officiated. Burial was in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 1 Humane Society Road, Hudson 12534.
Thelma Olsen, 97, travel bureau manager
ALBANY—Thelma Belle Olsen, 97, formerly of Livingston, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Albany County Nursing Home.
Born March 17, 1913 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Countryman) Rossman.
Mrs. Olsen was the manager of Columbia Travel Bureau for over 25 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Mt. Merino Eastern Star, the Trippers Club, and the Columbia Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a lifelong area resident.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ewald Thomas Olsen in 1980; her brother, Emmett Rossman; and two sisters, Vivian Kiel and Doris Clark.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Florence Rossman; several nieces and nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Friends may call at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Monday, March 21 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Copake Cemetery.

John Morrison, Jr., 87, Army vet, liked to walk
LIVINGSTON—John R. Morrison, Jr., 87, of Hudson, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 3, 1923 in Hudson, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Aichele) Morrison.
Mr. Morrison served in the US Army from 1949 until 1950 in Japan, earning the Army of Occupation Medal. He served with a field Artillery Battalion.
He was employed in the printing department at the Universal Match factory for many years.
Mr. Morrison graduated from Hudson High School in 1943. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Hudson. He enjoyed walking and the great outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Wilms) Morrison of Hudson; his brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Patricia Morrison of Livingston, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Lawrence, and his sister, Evelyn.
A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery with military honors.
