Lyn Dee Laurange, 51, dog trainer, animal lover
HUDSON—Lyn Dee Laurange, 51, a lifelong resident of Chatham, passed away suddenly at Columbia Memorial Hospital Hospice, March 12, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Grace Laurange of Chatham.
Ms. Laurange is survived by: her brothers, David and Rodney of Stuyvesant Falls, Kevin of Pomona Park, FL, Terry of Chatham, and Scott of Chatham Center; her sister, Tami Slovak of Valatie; her son, Robert Blair Clifford Gordon of Watertown; her sister-in-law, Linda Laurange of Chatham; her long-time companion, Stephen Carr of Chatham; her dear friend, Chris Bortugno, III, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Cheryl, Sharon and Rhonda and her brother, Ricky Laurange.
Ms. Laurange was an avid animal lover and spent many years as a dog trainer/rescuer. She leaves behind her precious therapeutic canine Gizmo.
A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, March 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham.

Judith Marotta, 77, curator, equestrian
HUDSON—Judith M. Marotta, 77, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 13, 2011 at her residence.
Born January 22, 1934 in Fort Kent, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Verna (Larson) Michaud.
She graduated from Regis College in 1956.
Mrs. Marotta was the curator of the Hudson Valley Arts Center in Hudson. She was a charter member of the American Indian Museum in Washington, DC; a volunteer for many special needs groups; and a member and one of the original founders of the Hudson Antique Dealers Association.
She was a member and Eucharist minister at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson, an organist at St. Joseph’s Church in Malden Bridge for many years, an accomplished artist specializing in fiber work, and did “hands on” restorations for many buildings in Columbia County. She was also an avid equestrian.
Mrs. Marotta was the beloved mother of Andrew (Paris) Marotta of Virginia, Paul (Margaret) Marotta of Nashville, TN, Peter Marotta of Hudson, and Judith “Missy” (Dennis) Gawron of East Chatham; and devoted grandmother of Katie Lynn, Nicholas, Molly, Adam, Gracie, Drew, Thom, and Mari-Ellen.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Marotta, DDS.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson.
Burial will be in the Linlithgo Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Indian Museum in Washington, D.C.
