Walter Whipple, 70, had a wonderful life

HUDSON—Walter George Whipple passed away December 18, 2010, at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 13, 1940 in Kingston, the son of the late John and Florence Knight Whipple.

Mr. Whipple is survived by three sisters, Julia Gallo (Anthony) of Kingston, Alice Studler of Raleigh, NC, Dorothy Diehl (Henry) of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; one brother, Donald Whipple (Sally) of Red Hook; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Ann; step-sister, Virginia Glass; brothers-in-law, Albin Studler and Louis Clausi.

Mr. Whipple lived with his parents in Kingston and Leeds until he was 32 years of age. When his mother could no longer care for him, he went to live with Family Care Providers Mildred and Louis Capra in Earlton for 32 years. After Millie became ill, he went to live with Family Care Providers Linda and Gary Cook in Ghent for more than 5 years until his passing.

Mr. Whipple’s family is very grateful for all the love and good care he received from these two families. He was very happy and enjoyed a wonderful life at both homes.

Mr. Whipple attended the program at Promenade Hill for a long time and made many friends there. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Promenade Hill, Warren Street, Hudson 12534.

Visitation and services will be at the French Gifford Preiter and Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham, Wednesday, December 22 at 10 a.m.

Mr. Whipple will be cremated and his ashes interred at a later date.
