GERMANTOWN—Cheryl “Lee” Helsley-Rekow, 59, of Germantown died Monday, November 8, 2010 at her home after a long illness.

Born February 3, 1951 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Philip Dedrick, Jr. and Shirley E. Saulpaugh. She was the adopted daughter of the late Earl and Olive Helsley.

 

Ms. Helsley-Rekow, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, was a member of the United Methodist Church of Germantown and the Jennings Willet American Legion Post of Germantown.

She was a member of the Germantown Planning Board, very active in the community and a volunteer for many town programs. She enjoyed ATV riding, fishing, her horses and other farm animals, as well as gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Roger, who she married April 2, 1971 in Linlithgo; her daughter, Faydra (Micah) Geraghty of Germantown; granddaughter, Auna Geraghty; brother, Wayne (Linda) Dedrick, Sr. of Austerlitz; sisters, Bonnie (James) Ostoyich of Livingston, Mildred “Dolly”” Pullen of Hudson, Nancy (Fred) Fontaine of Hudson, and Connie (Bob) Horton of Germantown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Philip “Teddy” Dedrick, III.

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 11, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 12 at the funeral home with the Rev. Theodore Gerken officiating.

Interment will follow in the Reformed Church Cemetery of Germantown.
