PITTSFIELD—Jack C. Felter, 73, of Route 22, New Lebanon died the morning of Saturday, October 30 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born May 27, 1937 in Gloversville, he was the son of the late George F. and Kathryn E. Wentworth Felter.
He was the loving husband of Barbara Maxwell Felter, whom he married June 28, 1958 at the Second Congregational Church in Pittsfield.
Mr. Felter graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1955, then enrolled in the apprentice program at General Electric in Pittsfield. He worked there for more than 35 years and retired in 1992 as a foreman in the ordinance division.
He then worked for Lebanon Valley Landscaping and at the time of his death was employed by Valley Equipment of Schenectady. Mr. Felter also co-owned the In-Between Shop in New Lebanon with his daughter. He was a member of the Lebanon Valley Protective Association, where he served as chaplain. He was also a member of both the Lebanon Valley and Stephentown Seniors. He enjoyed antiques and attending auctions.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara; his children, Deborah J. (Jeffrey) Potter of New Lebanon, Tammy L. (David) Brown of West Sand Lake, Stephen D. (Dawn) Felter of New Lebanon, Michael B. Felter of Adams, Mass.; his cherished grandchildren, Jeremiah and Stefani Brown, Courtney Potter, Austin and Marissa Felter and Kendalle Felter. He was predeceased by a sister, Sandra K. Molleur.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3 at noon at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 State Route 43, Stephentown, with the Rev. John Cunningham officiating. Cremation will follow.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the start of the service.
The Felter family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Emanuel Community Church c/o the funeral home P.O. Box 9, Stephentown 12168.
