HUDSON—Dorothy C. “Sissy” Hagadone, 52, of Route 9H, Kinderhook, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hudson, May 1, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Laura (Mazal) Hagadone.
Ms. Hagadone worked in private duty home care around Columbia County for many years.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Valatie and a former member of the Valatie Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid quilter and volunteered her time in both the primary and elementary schools in the Ichabod Crane School District. She was a very devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Shufelt of Kinderhook; one son, Allen Shufelt of Kinderhook; two sisters, Ethel (Cookie) Mackey and Jane (Punky) Williams both of Valatie; and five brothers, Daniel, David, Arthur and Dennis, all of Valatie, and George of Kinderhook; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Arnold, Kevin, William, Katherine, Nellie and Robert
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 14 at 11 a.m. from the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Route 9, Valatie, with the service conducted by the Rev. James Slater. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie. Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
