HUDSON—Janet M. Sigler Dobrowski, 74, of Greenport, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born July 8, 1936 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Gladys Bonhotel and Harold Cole.
Ms. Dobrowski retired from the Hudson City Savings Bank and also worked as a substitute teacher of the Hudson City School District.
She was the beloved mother of Deborah Osuch and her husband William, Timothy Sigler and his wife Debbie, Steven Sigler, and Mark Sigler and his wife Jerry, all of Hudson; devoted grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; beloved sister of Doris Parsons, Rachel Lamb, Jim and John Bonhotel, all of CT; and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Dobrowski was predeceased by her husband Lowell Sigler, her sister Mickey Gregory, and her brother Arthur Cole.
In addition to being a nurturing mother and grandmother, Ms. Dobrowski also served others throughout her life as a Sunday School teacher and children’s choir director, and caring for the elderly and sick. She served many years on the West Ghent Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and as the proprietor of JD Bike Shop, she sponsored a BMX team to the State Nationals.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 10 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 11, at the West Ghent Reformed Church.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
