HUDSON—Bernice Alice Schwartz Proniske, 90, of County Route 25, Stuyvesant Falls, died Wednesday August 11, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born in Kinderhook, January 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Nellie (Eaton) Schwartz.
Mrs. Proniske was a homemaker and a member of the Stuyvesant Falls Senior Citizens. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed baking, especially homemade bread for her family on Saturday mornings.
She is survived by five children, George Proniske (Tamara) of Kinderhook, Thomas Proniske (Marilyn) of Claverack, Robert Proniske (Betty) of Chatham, Daniel Proniske of Stuyvesant Falls and Donna Hotaling (Steven) of Valatie; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband George Edward Proniske, her son David Proniske, four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Church of St. Joseph, Stuyvesant Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Frank O’Connor and Rev. Mr. Rick Washburn. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Stuyvesant Falls. Friends may call Friday, August 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Route 9, Valatie.
