LIVINGSTON—Nettie Silvernail, 73, of Stockport, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Livingston Hills Nursing Home.
Born December 10, 1936 in Yonkers, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Laura (Weir) Thompson.
Mrs. Silvernail was a certified nurse’s aide at Barnwell Nursing Home for 15 years, where she received the Nurse’s Aide of the Year Award.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson, a Salvation Army Soldier, and a member of the Stottville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed bowling.
Mrs. Silvernail was the beloved mother of John Silvernail, MD, MPH, and his wife, Tina, of Columbiaville, and Laurie Smith of North Carolina; devoted grandmother of Samantha, Shane, Matthew, and Michael Smith, Thomas and Russell Silvernail,
Rachel Balasco and Amanda Willey, and special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, George L. Silvernail, and her son, George W. Silvernail.
Visiting hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 15 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 16 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
