PHILMONT—Charles S. Kelley, Jr., 88, of Hudson, passed away, Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Pine Haven Nursing Home of natural causes.

Born October 18, 1921 in Enfield, Conn., he was the son of the late Emma (Heidemann) and Charles S. Kelley, Sr.

 

Mr. Kelley retired as service manager of Agway Petroleum, formerly known as Pulver’s Gas & Oil.

He served in the US Army during WW II, earning several medals.

Mr. Kelley was a former member of the Hudson Rotary Club.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Stella (Gurny) Kelley, and two brothers, James A. and John H. Kelley.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles S. Kelley, III of Greenport and Carol A. Kelley of Hudson; two grandchildren, Michael P. Kelley and Meghan J. Kelley, both of Hudson; two great-grandchildren, Bryan Weber and Emily O’Neil, both of Hudson; his sister, Margaret Houghtaling of Hudson; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve and Carol

Gurny, Josie Kelley and Esther Zukowski, all of Hudson, Connie Kelley of Buffalo, Antoinette Gentile of FL, and Lena Gurny of VA; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 10 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday August 11at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
