VALATIE—Dorothy V. Walker, 83, of Kinderhook Street, Valatie, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her home.
Born in Brooklyn June 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Gertrude (Vedder) Burrall. Mrs. Walker worked at the Barnwell Nursing Home as an LPN for many years. She volunteered her time at Columbia Memorial Hospital and was a former member of the Valatie Rescue Squad as well as a homemaker and foster mother to many children over the years.
She is survived by four daughters, Stephanie Gardinier (Jim) of Niverville, Joyce Hoffman (John) of Valatie, Doreen Croteau (David) of Clifton Park, Jean Bewick (Tom) of Depew; two sons, Vincent Walker of Schenectady and Sean Walker (Rebecca) of Kentucky; two brothers, Herbert Burrall (Audrey) and Thomas Burrall (Judy), both of Florida; and 14 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert M. Walker.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clearview Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 275 Schodack Drive, Castleton 12033 or to the Valatie Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 242, Valatie 12184.
Arrangements were with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
