SHARON, Conn.—Kenneth G. Fitzpatrick, 71, of Livingston, passed suddenly Sunday July 18, 2010 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Conn.
He was born December 27, 1938 in Brooklyn, the son of the late John J. and Cathleen (Bell) Fitzpatrick. Previously of Brooklyn, Mr. Fitzpatrick lived locally for the past 15 years.
A physical therapist, he attended Columbia University in New York City and also St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Fitzpatrick was employed by both the Columbia County Department of Health and also the Eddy Visiting Nurse Association.
Prior to becoming a therapist, he was employed as a property master in the movie industry for several years.
Mr. Fitzpatrick was an avid bicyclist, hiker and also enjoyed kayaking and bird watching.
On May 15, 1999 at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls he married Mary Ellen Baker, who survives him at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth J. Fitzpatrick of West Chester, PA; a daughter, Theresa Cotton of North Carolina; and a sister, Sr. Carole Fitzpatrick of Queens. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 22, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, Route 344 in Copake Falls with the rector, Rev. John Thompson officiating.
Friends are invited and may call also on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake.
Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Copake Falls.
