LIVINGSTON—Gordon A. Budd, 83, of Livingston, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at home.
He was born in Stanford, NY, and was the son of J. Sterling and Olive Budd. Mr. Budd was raised on and was later the owner of a dairy farm in Stanford.
Later he and his late wife, Elaine (Erickson) Budd moved to Livingston in Columbia County.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Barrett and Jane Williams.
Surviving are three sons, Alan, Bob, and Jim, all of Clinton Corners; and two granddaughters, Amy Budd of Clinton Corners and Kiersten Williams of Bolton, VT.
Mr. Budd was always on the go, besides working the dairy farm, he worked as a heavy equipment operator, and as a self-employed landscaper until last year.
Almost from day one, Mr. Budd hunted and fished with his father and has passed on those activities to his son, Jim. Mr. Budd was always ready to play croquet and horseshoes, as well as a good card game.
He was also a member of the Stanford Fire Company.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Rhinebeck Reformed Church, at the corner of Route 9 and South Street in Rhinebeck.
Following the service there will be a reception in the Church Fellowship Hall.
