GHENT—John R. Gibson, Jr, 77, of Mountain View Drive, Valatie, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Whittier Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Nashville, TN, July 6, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Marie (Newman) Gibson. Mr. Gibson was a dispatcher for Anchor Motor Frieght in Selkirk for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Gibson of Niverville and John Gibson; a sister, Faye Christibald and a brother, Donald Gibson, both of Nashville, TN; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Gibson and longtime companion Nellie Palmer.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
