STEPHENTOWN—Victoria Demick Szymanski, 92, formerly of Route 43 died July 1 at the Aaron Manor in Fairport, where she lived for the last six weeks.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on November 4, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Frances Kania Demick. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony S. “Tony” Szymanski, who died August 30, 1991. They were married in Newark, NJ on September 5, 1936.
Educated in Pittsfield schools, Mrs. Szymanski moved to Irvington, NJ in 1946. She was employed by RCA in New Brunswick, NJ for more than 25 years. She and Mr. Szymanski moved to Stephentown in 1979. Mrs. Szymanski was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Stephentown. Her greatest love was that of her family “The Demick Clan” along with her loving son and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Victor F. (the late Gayle) Szymanski of Victor; her grandchildren Kerry Szymanski of Florida, Jeffrey (Jessica) Szymanski of Colorado, Jason (Janine) Szymanski and their son Noah of Henrietta, Jacqueline (Daniel) Milgate and their children Daniel and Derek of Hilton, Michelle (Michael) Budinski and their children Jaime and Justin of Hilton; her siblings Wanda Hicks of New Lebanon, Henrietta Harrison of Hoosick Falls and Bernadette Bordeau of Pittsfield, MA; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Chester, Victor, Walter, Edward, Edmond and Stephen Demick; Agnes McKenna, Helen Donohue, Virginia Lohnes, Pauline Kryznowski, Sophie Hill and Louise Lester.
Rev. John Close will celebrate a Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial Wednesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Route 43 in Stephentown. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
