PHILMONT–Frances A. Neil, 97, of Route 344 in Copake Falls, died peacefully June 29, 2010 at the Pine Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on October 21, 1912 in New York City, the daughter of the late John and Annie (Sims) Zirm. Mrs. Neil was a parishioner of the Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls. She was also an active member of the Copake Grange and a member of the former Cullin Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in the Roe Jan area.
On July 15, 1956, she married Burt Neil in White Plains. He predeceased her in 1986.
Survivors include a stepson, Ronald Neil and his wife Babette of Naples, FL, and a stepdaughter Anetta Grady and her husband John of Tuscon, AZ.
She also leaves cousins in England and will be dearly missed by her many caregivers.
Mrs. Neil was predeceased by a brother, John E. Zirm.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22, Copake.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Thompson, rector of the Church of St. John in the Wilderness officiating.
Private burial will be in the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, P.O. Box 180, Copake Falls 12517.
