Theodore J. Miles, Jr.

SHARON, CT—Theodore J. Miles, Jr., 52, of Amenia passed away due to multiple injuries Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

He leaves behind: his wife, Marcelle Miles of Troy; his daughters, Cassandra Miles of Millbrook, Lacey Miles of Troy and Mandy Miles of Troy; stepdaughter, Tabitha Surge of Hillsdale; his sisters, Tanya Wilbur of Copake Falls, Rhonda Miles of Hillsdale, Penny Miles of Boston Corners, Raquel Werner Miles of Hillsdale and Rene Miles of Hillsdale; his brothers, George (Tony) Miles of Connecticut, Theodore Loucks of Amsterdam; his soulmate of 20 years, Susan Sordo; many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Johanna’s Motel, 7519 Route 22, Copake.

Jennie Paone (1922 – 2016)

ALBANY—Jennie Paone, 93, of Hudson died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Albany Medical Center.

Born in Stephentown, May 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Carnivale) Squillace.

She was employed for many years at Steiner’s Sports Center in Hudson as a sales clerk. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hudson and the Ladies Sodality, as well as Holy Trinity Parish.

Mrs. Paone was predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony Paone, January 17, 2011. She is survived by: her loving son and daughter-in-law, Joseph S., Sr., and Elizabeth Paone of Hudson; two sisters, Chancy (William) Kellerhouse and Josie Kelly; grandson, Joseph S., Jr., (Jennifer) Paone of Stuyvesant and her great-grandson, Joseph S. Paone, III.

She was predeceased by three sisters: Nancy Paone, Lucy Rossi and Rosie Cresky.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 16, 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson, with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Joyce E. Sweet (1933 – 2016)

PHILMONT—Joyce E. Sweet, 82, formerly of Stottville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Pine Haven Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 12, 1933 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Clara (Huth) Ferris.

Mrs. Sweet was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Widmer Sweet.

Surviving are: her loving children, Leonard (Grace) Sweet of Hudson, Roger (Tammy) Sweet of Nashville, TN, Joseph (Cynthia) Sweet of Rensselaer, Woody (Deborah) Sweet of Asheboro, NC, Matthew (Donna) Sweet of Hudson, Mark Sweet of Hudson and Bethann (Anthony) Winig of Hudson; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, May 21, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish, Holy Family Church, 2824 Atlantic Avenue, Stottville.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
