HILLSDALE – Contractors working for the Columbia County Department of Public Works will begin the construction work for the replacement of a small bridge, carrying county Route 21 over a tributary of the Agawamuck Creek in the Town of Hillsdale, located immediately east of Pheasant Lane, Monday June 15.
County Route 21 will close at the bridge site just prior to the start of the bridge replacement work and traffic will be directed to use a temporary, off-site detour that will be signed/posted by the county’s project contractors.
The bridge replacement work at the County Route 21 bridge is expected to take approximately 4 to 5 months to complete.
The projects off-site detour will traverse sections of county Route 21, state Route 22, state Route 203 and county Route 7 in the towns of Hillsdale and Austerlitz.
