CHATHAM – There were vigils in Chatham and Hudson on Sunday evening to support the people of Ukraine. They were organized spontaneously, Chatham’s by Upper Hudson Peace Action and Hudson’s by Hudson resident Victoria Emanuela who was born in Poland and has family in Ukraine. There were about 75 people in Chatham and at least that many in Hudson. Hudson is the home for both St Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and clergy from both parishes were in attendance.

Flyers were circulated by the Ukranian Catholic Archdiocese informing those interested in making donations to write a check to the Ukrainian Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia, 810 North Franklin Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 and write on the check “Humanitarian Aid Fund for Ukraine.” People can also go the website www.ukrarcheparchy.us and click on “Donate” through Paypal and select “War Victims and Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine.”
