A small plane had made an emergency landing on the NYS Thruway near Albany’s exit 23. There were three people on board but state police say none were injured. No vehicles were reportedly struck during the landing.

According to troopers, the craft either developed engine trouble or iced up, forcing it to make the emergency landing. The plane reportedly left South Carolina earlier this morning.

Both northbound lanes were closed for a short while but have since been re-opened. The plane was pushed off the roadway to help clear the traffic back-up.

The investigation is ongoing.
