The Fourth Annual Polar Plunge to benefit the Hudson Department of Youth and the Hudson Fire Department Dive Team was held Saturday, February 27. The event was not officially open to the public, but many spectators lined Sixth Street for a good view of the action at the Oakdale Lake beach. A large hole had been cut into the ice and teams of plungers dressed in fantastic costumes rushed or tip-toed into the cold water. When all the splashing was finished over $33,000 had been raised. The team called Herd Immunity (pictured top) led by Tamar Adler (second from r) took to the water. In the water (above) are Steve Ewasick, Tom O’Dowd and the legs of Loren Weinheimer and Peter Moore.
