Hudson City School District

Proposed budget: $48,769,728.

4.73% higher than last year.

The tax levy is $23,140,218. That is 3.25% higher than last year.

Two seats on the Board.

One is for 3 years, other for one year.

Two candidates are running: Willette Jones and Lucinda Segar. The candidate who receives the higher number of votes will get the longer term.

Both candidates are incumbent on the School Board now.

There is one proposition besides the budget, on the ballot:

Proposition 2: Shall the Board…be authorized to” transfer $715,000 from the Assigned Fund Balance account to the Repair Reserve Fund, “in order to defray the cost the repair of school district facilities?”

There are 3 polling places:

JLE Primary School, 360 State Street, Hudson; the Greenport Community Center, 500 Town Hall Drive, Greenport; and the A. B. Shaw Fire House, 67 NY-23, Claverack. Noon to 9 pm.

Proposition #3 Capital Improvement Project building and site improvement not exceed $7,104,687. The total cost of the project is $11,542,917 with $4,438,230 from the capital reserve fund and funding from state aid.

Proposition #4 Capital Improvement Project north sports complex at an amount not to exceed $6,652,315.

Proposition #5 Bus purchases proposal. To authorize the purchase of five school vehicles and two buses at a maximum aggregate cost of $404,800.

Proposition #6 Capital Outlay Project to replace the existing bus lift at the District’s bus garage and acquire origianl equipment, machinery or apparatus required, at a maximum cost of $118,836, expended from the unappropriated fund balance.
