GHENT–The general election is Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The county Board of Elections has published a list of polling sites. The county has also published a list of candidates and ballot propositions.
If you are not certain where you vote, contact the Board of Elections at (518) 828-3115.
Below are copies of the ballots for this election. Please note that each ballot has two sides, with candidates on the front and propositions on the back.
We have broken up the ballots because everyone in the county sees the same candidates on the left side of the ballot (candidates for governor through candidates for state senator). But there are three different Assembly districts in the county, and we have separated the right side of the ballot and present each Assembly district separately. The names of the towns in the district are listed with the district number.

In addition, three towns (Copake, Claverack and Taghkanic) have candidates for local offices and four towns (Ancram, Greenport, Kinderhook and Stuyvesant) have local propositions, which appear only on the ballots of those towns. Each of the local propositions is called “Proposal Number 4” on the back of the ballot.
